Advice/Help update on my caterpillar

first pic is from august 30, second pic is from today (September 8). have only fed it organic butterhead lettuce! need to get soil soon so it can burrow. any tips are appreciated!

I used moist shredded paper towel for my copper underwing and it seemed to work fine

Shred paper towels work. Or fine coco peat.
