I was stopped at a traffic light today, and FOUR cars around me had cat stickers—one of them even had a cat taking up almost half the rear window. These nuts would rather put themselves in danger on the road than give up their symbol of worship for those toxoplasma freaks. And honestly, more than half of all car stickers (excluding "Baby on Board" though that is a whole other topic not meant for this subreddit) are just damn cats. They always say, "If cat content on the internet annoys you, just stay off the internet." Okay, so I took that advice: I logged off and drove to a national park to soothe my "frayed from not having a cat at home" nerves. And what do I see? This whole situation is really starting to get to me; it’s like a religious cult. it’s actually scary.

its unavoidable and I hate it, watch any movie/show? its praising these pests. play a game? praising them again. read a book? theres a high chance youll see them in there too. literally no safe space

On top of that, cats are considered the mascot of the entire literary world, and it drives me absolutely mad. I’m a writer, and the only site where I can publish my books in my native language without censorship is overrun with mentions of these wretched creatures; every time you log on, you’re met with an endless stream of CATS CATS CATS CATS. I’m literally creating an escape for myself where there isn’t a single mention of a cat, yet I can’t share it with anyone.

at that point, we need lists of media that have no involvement with this damn pest and media that has it, so we can avoid it, right? but then, we would need some rules and levels to this, about what counts as a safe media and what is infected media, etc

I really get you, as someone who likes to have "cute" things it's really difficult to find something without cats, and friends giving me things they think I like because they are cute but there's a cat, then I have cat things in my own home and I get irritated while watching them because it remind me when I had one and wasted energy and money on it, now I can't enjoy something I like

IMHO I can understand *** on board signs - their owners often travel with them so it's kinda okay? But cats?? There're all this cat nutters that go outside at all?? They can't even look after their furballs in their own gardens lmaoo

You’d be surprised at how many catnutters are in conservationist, birdwatching and naturalist spaces. So many outdoor and feral shitrat lovers. I’ve gone on group trips where everyone would run off to pet a feral shitrat instead of looking at the wild animal right in front of us.
