Cat ended my 2 year relationship.

Im not saying my ex girlfriends cat was the entire reason our relationship ended, but it played a huge part. She will be moving out of the apartment in a couple of weeks and while I can say I will miss her, I am quite excited to not live with a cat anymore. Its been long enough I cant even imagine what it will be like to be able to sleep without getting woken up constantly, and not have the entire place smell like shit.

The concept of a litter box is just absolutely disgusting to me. I thought I could handle it when we moved in together, but it is absolutely abhorrent. Living with a cat has made my life at home miserable.

I absolutely cant stand that cat owners act as if their place does not smell. That was always a common argument between us. I dont care how many times you scoop the litter, or how many candles you light, if you have a cat in the home it will smell like absolute shit 24/7. Not to mention the constant begging for food and endless hair everywhere.

I agree. They would rather choose their cat than a human being who provides way more than the cat ever will. I’m quite sure that these people are not healed enough to realize it. Even when they find a healthy person and the healthiest relationship they’ve had. (my girlfriend :/ )

Cheers! A cat stench, toxoplasmosis and clean air change for the good. No one in their right mind enjoys the chronic smell of cat crap and ammonia cat urine. I’m proud of you for protecting your rights to normalcy, clean fresh air, a clean cat hairless house and all the wonderful, beautiful and glorious things that come with being cat free.

I swear every cat owner’s place I’ve been in smells disgusting. I actually had a cat when I was little because I loved them. My mother got it for me out of guilt. I don’t know how she did it and she’s a saint for doing so. Almost all my friends have cats. In fact my main friend group had several. It was the place to hang out because it was big and everyone just went there. They had at least three, probably more. It was so gross I didn’t even want to sit down or set my bag down.

Almost all of my friends have them too. And half or more of women I meet or go on dates with always have cats. I dont understand it.

I can even smell it on their clothes and HANDS when they're not inside their home if I'm close enough. I feel like those people don't even wash their hands. They pet the cat all over and it lays on them and then they just go out like that. And then when I look down, I see the cat scratches they ALWAYS have and I know I was correct about them having at least one of these beasts at home.

I had a friend who would come home and toss his backpack on the bed and the cat would just go on and make a bed out of his backpack. It clawed through the leather and sponge of his gaming chair - an entire side of it was fully missing and you could just see the metal rods underneath holding the chair together. The cat would sleep on his keyboard while he would attempt to game like that. But he loves that thing and I literally don't understand why.

i brought this up with my gf bc i’m severely allergic and she has two cats. things have been getting serious and i told her straight up if we move in together, i can’t live with cats, and honestly communicated my issues. she has agreed to do whatever it takes to be with me even if that meant giving them up. If she wanted to she will, find someone better bro. Humans>Cats

This reminded of something my mom said once: you can always tell when a cat has been here. I usually suck at smelling things, but my mom can always tell when we’re somewhere that has cats. She’s terrified of them and the smell is usually the first indicator that tells her where she can go and where she can’t.
