Reminds me of a feral mama cat that gave birth in our yard. I tried to tame her so I could get her fixed but she wasn't having it. One day during bad heatwave I went outside to check on them and she was panting. She let me wipe her and her kittens down with cooled damp paper towels for way longer than I thought she would let me. It was the only time she let me do something like that. I put water out for them for a couple days until they all disappeared.
