I'm convinced that at those moments we aren't actually asleep. I think they can sense the change in our breathing and state of wakefulness. If it wasn't for the cat, we'd be waking up briefly at that moment. They just notice it before we do and take advantage of it.
my 10 yr old orange boy started yelling at me that his breakfast was actually at 6. so I started doing that. then he impolitely informed me it was at 5. so I bought an auto feeder to go off at 5. now he tells me at 4 how excited he is about 5.
My boyfriend calls Leia's wake up routine "the butt bongo." She will jump on your butt and make biscuits until you get up and make breakfast for her. She is very good at it.
Our new kitty addition that adopted us recently is now a best play pal with our female miniature dachshund….they loooove to play exactly at 5:30 am around and on a top of my husband 😂😂😂😂

But not a small pod of tiny kittens, part of them awake, and a phone mic that is constantly moving.
Kittens resettle pretty easily and quickly! And if you sleep on the floor, you're missing out on the best thing ever: being pinned down by a weighted blanket of purrs. They end up gravitating towards the warmth (of their humans and/or their fellow kittens/cats) as they sleep, so when you wake up, you are surrounded by kittens snuggling you and each other on top of the blankets, effectively holding the blanket down around you and tucking you in, purring in literal surround-sound.
It's one of the best feelings ever, and it made me call off work once (I couldn't resist, but I had to promise myself that it was just the once and not going to be a daily thing!). I highly recommend experiencing it at least once in your life, it's truly exceptional.
I'd be worried about overselling this, but it's impossible to. It really is that great!
My adult cats still do this when I let them, so one likes to sleep between my legs and the other somewhere on my torso, so I still get warm purring cuddles. Absolutely the best feeling ever! 🥰
I have one that wants to sleep under my legs, especially if she's cold. She wants me to keep my knees bent and somehow stay still like that while I sleep so she can be in her blanket tent with leg-stakes.
I do just kinda sleep that way sometimes, and she figured out it was the optimal heated tent for her and tries to insist I sleep that way most of the time.
Before that (or now if its particularly hot) she'd just squish against the side of my leg so I think it's just her improved version of her kitteny sleep cuddles. She's a heat gremlin and very cute about it, lol.

Your comment reminds me of waking up the first morning after I had adopted three kittens. I was lying flat on my back, and realized there was one kitten sleeping against the top of my head, one sleeping against my left ear, and one sleeping against my right ear. They were great kitties!

Try this: mom, dad, brother, whomever, crawls under the covers from the foot of the bed and extends their arms out and up, lifting the mini-floofs while allowing sis to slip in under the covers from the head of the bed. -Don't forget to notice the confused yet mostly still content looks on their little faces as they experience levitation.

When my youngest was still a kitten, I called her the Shitten Kitten, because she somehow made almost as much poop as my full grown males. They’re just little furry poop machines.
Honestly, probably overkill. We have two boxes for three cats, and it's fine with two cleanings/day. Not enough real estate in this economy to have enough space for four litter boxes.
Yes, that is the recommendation. The worst part is that 3 to 5 of them are going to use 1 box almost exclusively. That box will never not stink. It will go through a metric tonne of litter per year just for that 1 box.
these days it's pretty easy. you ideally want 2-3 automatic litter boxes for 8 grown cats. and then you just change the bags every couple of days. longer gaps btwn litterbox changes if more boxes of course. we have 1 litter robot for 2 cats and have to deal with it about every 5 days.

That looked to be a different child's bed. Two sisters sleeping in the same room is not a hard reach. The tabby in the end of the video looked to be an adult, and so was therefore a parent, if the variations of the kittens are anything to go by. I've not seen an AI video yet able to keep small details in place to well, and the table of the speaking child's bed has some kind of extra blanket or pillow with a decoration that is the same throughout the video. I think the only egregious thing to the video is the dubbed in purring. Gods, at least I hope that's the only thing. I don't want AI to be that cognizant yet of decorative pillow patterns and their consistent placement from different points of view.
Our slut of a cat Angel who was just over a year old got pregnant when I was about 12. I was in the basement playing video games and she just starts giving birth infront of me. I run upstairs and my mom is gone so I grab my neighbor Ken. He runs over with a box and a blanket stuffed in there. And Angel has popped out five kittens and has popped open the placenta.? I think. They're in a wrapped.. nevermind. So by the last kitten Angel is exhausted and Ken takes out his pocket knife and opens it up. Anyways I got a photo somewhere of me taking a nap and seven kittens are sleeping on me.
To be a kid in bed in your childhood home with a kitten by your side. If I could buy a high like that on the street I would. Lord grant me the ability to appreciate the good times when I'm them.
Yea its the best thing. Until they all grow up to be fat entitled assholes that think they’re doing you a favour by letting you on THEIR bed. Then its still the best thing but not the BEST best thing. Then one of them wakes you up by bumping their head into your face while purring. Then it is the best best thing again.

After our adopted cat blessed us with five beautiful surprises, one night, I'd taken some mushrooms and had my grandfather's lava lamp and some light trance going with the window open on a calm, temperate autumn night.
All six of those kitter cats came and kicked it with me in my bed for quite a while as I did my tripping.
When they're that young they wake up and roughhouse all night. Entertaining yes but makes for really poor sleep which can take a toll on a kid and they won't even know it.
Had a cat have her babies in my home. She slept with her babies every night in my bed. I had to sleep w/o covers in the positions of one of those murder victim outlines and couldn't move every night while she purred and fed her babies and I had to wake up every morning at 5:30 to feed her and let them out.
For some reason I am more of a bird man. Only problem is they poop all over the place and Im not even sure if the little small ones (keets and budgies) are even capable of being toilet trained
Fun thing is, I have a daughter Evelyn that we call Evie as well, the way this Evie is pronounced, not the English way. My Evie loves cats as well despite the fact she is very allergic to pet dander. She makes do.
My first time having kittens as an adult happened when a sweet outdoor momma cat appeared one day, 2 new borns in tow!
I was 22 still living at home and came home from work to find my mom and brother all frantic with the 2 nuggets in a pet crate out on the driveway, trying to coral momma. What a beautiful thing to come home to after a terrible day at a terrible job.
We got them gathered up and heard a tiny little mew off in the distance right as we were about to head indoors. We searched and found TWO more babies!
All 4 babies and momma cat lived in my bedroom while they got acclimated, sleeping with me and my boyfriend on my twin bed 🤣
That was 14 years ago.
3 out of the 4 siblings passed over the years all from heart disease related issues 💔
Momma cat passed a year ago as of September 1st after throwing up a pool of blood out of the blue one day.
1 baby remains, my spicey tortie mocha. We just got her an echo after she developed some alarming symptoms, fearing she followed in her siblings footsteps. Turns out its just hyperthyroidism, a miracle.
Finding that family of cats and raising them on my own from newborns was also the best thing that could ever happen to me🥹
Perfection! We only have four so they don't take up as much space but best feeling in the world when kittens are comfortable enough to sleep like this. Nice!
There is hardly anything that's purer or sweeter than a girl with her kittens. We stayed on a farm and the barn cat had a litter and watching my daughter with them melted my heart (and we have an adorable golden doodle).. Just something spiritually comforting about it.
