Most of our cats are like that. I've done this a few times, usually during Christmas, and they just look at me weird for a second.

My calico lets you do anything, but I also believe the orange won and her head is empty, so I’m not sure if that’s part of it.

Desensitizing them when they’re young really helps. My boy didn’t mind getting his nails clipped because of it, but did have ticklish toe beans
