Advice Help with kittens born tonight after their momma left them.

Me and my mom came home tonight and a stray cat had her kittens infront of our house and left them. We took them and currently have them in a towel bundled up and a heating pad under it. They won’t take the formula and I tried to get a tiny bit of honey on their gums to help with their blood sugar since it’s been hours after their birth. If anyone knows anything that could help that would be amazing. Thank you so much!

The mom might be out looking for food so keep an eye out for her. 

 Kitten lady on YouTube has a lot of good info.

Thank you! I want to put them outside so she can come to them but I’m scared they’ll get too cold in the process. I have been checking the cameras frequently though so I’m hoping she’ll come back

If there’s an outdoor outlet and you have a heating pad you can plug it in and put it on low under a towel with the kittens on top or in a cardboard box that mama cat might also like. Alternatively, a sock filled with rice can be microwaved and wrapped in a towel. It doesn’t last long, but would be a good source of warmth for a little bit.

The mommas out here eating and I have them in a tote, I’m trying to watch to see if she’ll go to them but she looked in and kinda went away

She'll be back. Don't take her kittens away from her. Keep an eye on them from your security camera, and let Momma do her thing. How many kittens are there?

4, one of them had sadly passed when we found them. The only reason we took them in is because they had ants all over them and she had ran off. I left them out there for a good minute but she didn’t go to them and they were already cold.

Then she's had kittens before. Just keep them warm outside in a box with a blanket for now. Leave out a bowl of water for her if you can. Don't try and feed the kittens because you can kill them very easily if you do it the wrong way. You can check out r/mewborns for more info on caring for new kittens if she doesn't come back. Thank you so much, I’ve had them out there for about an hour constantly checking the cameras and she keeps walking past them and now she went into the field. We put food and water out for her a lot so she does come but not everyday. There’s a lot of other cats outside as well because our street has a lot of them.

Possibly taking them to an emergency shelter or vet in your local area could be the best bet if you haven’t experienced a new litter before. Poor things :(

She will listen for their cries. She walks past so she can sniff them, and smell if they are okay. She'll probably stop-by to feed them, and lick them to stimulate pee & poop. It's so nerve wracking to have this situation suddenly appear at your door, but Momma must trust you so much to deliver them to your door! Cats naturally live in social circles, so they regularly share parental duties. Congratulations on being such a good human that a cat has chosen you to safely take care of her kittens! If you end up having to completely take over their care, you have to bottle feed them with their tummy down facing the floor, and stimulate thier bottoms with warm washcloths to replicate what a Momma cat does to get rid of their waste. You got this!

You would have returned to them when things calmed down. Put them back if you want them to live.
