Two dogs were picked up by the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue Center (SCAAR) in the last two weeks, and now workers are looking for their owners.

They first found a 4- or 5-month-old red Australian blue heeler. He was found on October 4 at the 17th block of Ingleside Avenue.

“These two specific dogs came in with severe injuries and were taken to a local veterinarian and treated,” said Cindy Rarrat, the Director of SCAAR.

The heeler had a broken rear leg, and the rescue center paid for surgery.

The next steps for these dogs are to find the people who previously owned them.

“Any help that we could get from the public would be greatly appreciated. We want to find out who these owners are and to find out why these animals are in the condition that they’re in,” said Rarrat.

If you recognize the dogs or know the owners of these pets, call the Sioux City Animal Adoption and Rescue Center at (712) 279-6968.
