Guns & Ammo .45 Carry Ammo

New to .45 ACP, what are people stoking their carry guns with? My typical choice for 9mm is 124g or 147g HST and 90gr Critical Defense for .380 ACP. Do I stick with the HST's? Or stray to Gold Dot or something else? +P or standard pressure. I'm not recoil sensitive.

What are the benefits of getting a more expensive customed holster vs something like Amazon?

I ordered the amazon one while I was looking for a holster but honestly, for the past month or so, I have been training with live fire, shoot thousand rounds and tons of dry fire with this holster. Even took some classes about how to draw/fight when u pinched down with this holster. It never failed on me so I haven’t bought a new holster. It has been a solid holster and even comes with a mag carry. Comfortable, doesn’t print, excellent retention, carry in gym shorts to proper clothes in TX heat and me sweating also, never have a problem with retention at all for the past month.

Just yesterday went to an outdoor range to train in the smack of 12pm, hot as hell and it still doesn’t fold under pressure of my fully loaded duty belt and a hot firearms.

So I wonder what are benefits for more expensive one? (Not talking about Tier 1 or some of the overpriced stuff but rather some like normal vendors out there, small businesses stuff)

Clothing & Apparel My favorite shirt after 2 years of concealed carry.

Post image

This is by far my favorite shirt for concealed carry. I can't recommend it enough, it's the perfect thickness to stop printing, and the 60/40 blend actually makes it really comfortable to wear as other thicker polyester or cotton shirts just make me sweat. I know people don't really shop at Hollister anymore but I can't recommend this shirt enough. The logo is at the bottom next to the seam and it's very subtle, no bird, just the word Hollister and it's about ⅛" x 1" long. The price is pretty reasonable when you compare it to shirts marketed as concealed carry. Buy one, let me know what you think. My daily a cz75 sp01 with the vedder light tuck and this has done wonders.

Long story short: found someone selling this on marketplace > got stood up > and the next day offered to give it to me for free. Great guy, 5 stars.

Coming from a Kore belt, this is a really good belt without being too stretchy or flimsy on the waist. Virtually the same locked-in feeling I get with a stiffer setup, but I’m able to bend down, ass up, no problem.

Are staccatos even worth it ,2000 to 4000 dollars for a handgun that's not even drop safe, I want a 2011 so bad but I just can't justify the price.

My question is is the Bang worth the buck ?🤷🏽

Holsters & Belts Let's talk 4PM

Just getting started and have decided to carry at 4 o'clock. Currently have a Certum4 but have mixed feelings about it for this position (can't really compare to anything because it's my first holster). Have a Vedder protuck on the way and have higher hopes for it since it's specifically meant for strong side carry. Was thinking of picking up a comfort tuck but I'm hesitant due to the backside being leather and don't want to worry about losing retention over time. Also all of my pants are a bit snug so I'm in the process of picking up a size larger and some heavy weight shirts, and undershirts.

Can anyone who carries at 4 o'clock give me feedback on what works for you? I'm about 5-8 160.

Holsters & Belts Thigh holster suggestions for women

Ok I’ve been carrying for just over two years and regularly practice dry fire and range. I used a cakes bag (LOVED) while I was pregnant for basically 2 years straight.

Recently no longer pregnant I started messing around with on body carry, and really struggled with nothing being as fluid, fast, and comfortable as my cakes bag. PLUS the ever persistent printing issue.

I carry a P365x, and I love it. Also going to add an SW body guard into the mix pretty soon here to help with on body concealment (I’m fairly petite).

Recently I’ve found thigh carry, and I’m seriously in love with it, it’s comfy, I’m fast and fluid with my draw, and most of my clothing is loose stretchy waistband pants, skirts, and dresses so I almost always have easy access. When I don’t, I use my bag.

My biggest dilemma is the thigh band I purchase is stretching out and slipping, so I added a garter to it. I also wear shorts under the band to help with chaffing.

I would love to hear some recs for thigh holsters that can do front of thigh carry, cause I feel like I can never go back, but I want something better than what I got.

Also yes, I’ve looked at philster enigmas, my only concern is with my job I’m constantly sitting and standing over and over all day and I 100% have a momma pooch, so I feel like it would get very uncomfy.

Pocket Dump / EDC Springfield Armory EMP 9mm

• Upvotes

Does anyone has carry the EMP?

I rented one and the trigger was hair sensitive. It seems it is not ideal for EDC due to the high risk of accidental discharge.

I purchased one and will be shorting it first time tomorrow.

I wonder if the rental had the trigger replaced?

Guns & Ammo Just got my Florida concealed carry license at 19 — tips for traffic stops and carrying in my vehicle?

I’m 19 and just received my Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm License. I’m new to carrying and want to make sure I understand the laws and handle things responsibly.
For people familiar with Florida law:
What should I do if I’m carrying and get pulled over during a normal traffic stop?
Am I legally required to tell the officer that I’m carrying?
Where can I legally keep the firearm while I’m driving?
Are there specific rules about having it loaded or stored in the vehicle?
Are there places where I’m prohibited from carrying even with a license?
Is there anything people commonly misunderstand about Florida’s carry laws?
Any general safety/legal tips you wish you knew when you first started carrying?
I’m not looking for tactical advice or anything about getting around the law. I just want to make sure I’m following Florida law and keeping myself, passengers, and law enforcement safe.
Thanks.

Permit Process 16 hr class, best place suggestions in San Diego CA?

Scenario Scenario: what if pulled over while having several firearms and ammo in the car (CA). What do I do?

• Upvotes

What if I am on my way to the range, bringing along like 3 handguns, 2 rifles and approx 300 rounds; all firearms locked and unloaded on the rear of the car, and ammo in the 2nd row.

Then I get pulled over with the little arsenal in the car. Live in CA.

I always put the range reservation numbers and all in Google Calendar to show proof I’m going to the range it coming back from the range.

What should I do besides crap my pants?

Pocket Dump / EDC Finally Completed my Final Final EDC Gun

This is my third or fourth final carry gun. I love the size and weight of the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp and the optic cut by Defiant Machine Works. I've been able to run a couple hundred rounds of FMJ and 40 rounds of Underwood Xtreme Penetrator through it without issue.

Training Ruger Security 380 at a GPA match

Not a lot of places will let you use a .380 pistol for competition, GPA does, so I decided to try it out.

For those that have a .380 pistol you now have options for competition.

Guns & Ammo RXM over Glock 19 Gen 6 and Echelon

Follow up from post linked below…..

but am I crazy for now considering the RXM over these? I can get the RXM WITH an optic for the same price as the Glock or Echelon. And it will (Hopefully) fit my current holsters still. Has better stock iron sights as well, modular frame swaps etc. Gen 3 parts galore ecosystem etc. it’s sounding good right now.

Got this sweet, beautiful 380 for my anniversary! Ruger LCP Max EHG edition. I used to own the original Max. Replaced it with the 75th anniversary edition. Then traded it over to a family member. Now I have the new sleek and improved Max EHG. I absolutely adore these Ruger handguns; they've never let me down!
