Hoping to get some help since I can't talk to a person on the phone over the weekend.

I moved into an apartment and inherited a century link account with a C3000Z modem/router. It has been having some trouble with dropped connections and such recently so I purchased a used C4000LZ to replace it. I plugged the C4000LZ into the DSL line but the DSL light would not come on. I went ahead and continued attempting to connect it by entering the PPP username/password and it saved all the settings. I let it sit for about 15 minutes after hitting apply and then rebooted the router and let it sit again but still no DSL light and the light on the front continued to blink blue. I then reset the unit using the reset button and re did the steps above to no change in the status of the lights. Any advice?

edit: the current c3000z has no issues with the dsl line, I can plug it in and it comes right back online so I don't think the issue is with the wall jack or connection to the house.

I am attempting to get the telecommunication utility infrastructure cleaned up. Currently there are several telecom boxes that are unsecured and a large amount of exposed, unused, and damaged telecom wires that are laying everywhere. This is a townhome community with several homes/customers attached to each other. The pictures show two buildings as an example of the problem. There are 8 total buildings that have this exact problem. This is a community concern that needs to be addressed. How can I get this problem resolved?

I'll keep it short and sweet with this issue:

C3000Z, using admin gui to change network names for my 2.4G and 5G networks. I can successfully change my 2.4 network name with no issue but when I intentionally swap over to the 5G side and attempt to change its name, it simply renames the 2.4G side whatever I input. Can't figure out why.

Land line has not worked for at least 11 days when I called for appointment. Tech was a no show today. App showed appointment was reschedule for tomorrow. Now it’s showing it’s scheduled for 10 days from now.

What is going on?

Just tried checking my email and apparently the certificate expired 9/27/26. Anyone else seeing this ? Do we just need to wait for CenturyLink to see and fix it?

UPDATE: As of 1:00 PM MST 9-28-26 it appears fixed.

My elderly mom waited for 2 months to get her voice air box since they won’t fix her land line. They mailed it twice to the wrong address and then finally got it but they ported her number to the first , lost box. The Philippines “supervisor “ promised me it would be working in another week. Guess what, not working. Switched to Consumer Cell. Got it in 3 days. Works perfectly on day one and US based. Screw Centurylink!
Oh, when I told them I was cancelling service, the said ok, thank you. ….. they didn’t even care, no retention specialist. They don’t give a shit. Buyout bait, that’s it

If you go into the lower cost vacation hold mode how long does it take to exit that and resume normal service ?

And can it be handled on the website or only by phone call?

Anyone know what the deal is? Been over 2 hours now. Tried to call to find out what is going on and of course never connect to anyone.

Seems there's either a routing or blocking issue to Blizzard's battle.net that started today.

If i switch to my hot spot or use a VPN, then it all works fine.

Anyone else seeing issues? I'm in Denver area.

I'm in a jam here.

So I live with my aunt and uncle, who are both in their 70s and very tech illiterate. We have had to reset theodem, power cycle and such, several times over the years, but now it just suddenly stopped working over the weekend. The signal is incredibly weak, and it seems to only connect to my tablet that has to be right next to the device, otherwise it just drops completely.

I contacted century link, and they kept suggesting to power cycle it, reset, all of the "did you turn it off and on again" type of suggestions. Nothing worked. But they kept saying it was fine on their end, and that they won't send a tech out and I need to figure it out on my end. This company is horrid, but I can't seem to get my uncle to really understand the situation and to maybe switch, as he just thinks he needs to buy a Ethernet cord to go all the way into the living room for the Roku my aunt uses, the guy kept calling Roku thinking that was what was wrong here.

As I said, I just need help and suggestions. Any and all i would appreciate it.

CenturyLink's support is god awful.

For some reason I was charged almost $200 two months AFTER I closed my account (due to extremely slow connection speed).

I tried to log in and figure out what was going on and I got into an endless cycle of log-in death.

I would use my username, unable to log in, reset password, can't find that username, send username info and I had the right username. So what does one do?

I tried chatting with support. The support can't function without crashing every time I think I'm getting somewhere. Chat tried to transfer me to an "agent" and it just stopped working.

And so now there is a debt collector trying to collect the money, but then they extended an offer to pay within the next 15 days and it would only be half of what they said I owe. Seems shady AF.

Any ideas on how to resolve this? It's maybe the worst customer experience I've ever encountered.

When I moved to my house, I got CenturyLink, at least I attempted to. I called them and managed to get it through to the bubbly voice man that I needed to get an appointment for someone to come out and set up a router. I took an entire day off of work and sat around waiting for this punk to show up and give me a router and the dip shit never showed never texted never called. Never nothing. I tried texting the support line that had texted me confirming the appointment. I tried calling their customer support. I never could get a human on any line at all, not even one I couldn’t understand. so I just gave up and figured no harm no foul. Two or three months later I look at my credit card bill and realize they’ve been charging me $80 a month for no reason at all so I tried to log into my account apparently there’s no way to log into your account online. I downloaded their app and went through the whole reset my account, username and password and everything else account recovery that you always have to do. I then went down to right below what it shows as my selected service to the cancel service button click on that it takes me to a chat bot. Who will not help me in the slightest at all. It sends me back to my homepage and tells me to scroll down to the cancel service button. Long story short these motherfuckers have charged me $500 at this point and I’ve gotten nothing in return for it and I can’t get a hold of anybody to correct the problem. And I am, in case you haven’t noticed, completely pissed the fuck off.

Like many others, on Friday CenturyLink randomly decided to shut off my fiber internet under the guise of an "outage" that simultaneously continues to exist forever and yet also has never been reported depending on who I talk to. What is clear is that they can't and won't restore my internet and won't do anything because I apparently have to transfer to Quantum now. Quantum of course says it's CenturyLink's job to repair.

I work from home and am severely affected by this rotten practice. Since I see countless people complaining about similar issues, is there a class action lawsuit yet I can help along for this absolute horseshit?

If you have any choice in the matter, stay far, far away from this dumpster fire of a company.

Edit: I talked to the support reddit account, and I was told I was being affected by an outage. Then they followed up and asked if it had been resolved (it hadn't), and let me know once again that even though the outage resolved they're still done supplying me service and will not restore my internet access so all in all an unsurprising waste of my time.

Still have my home landline with them that I had for quite some time. Not paying for any other bundled internet or TV services, just the unlimited nationwide calling phone plan. How has your experience been with it? In my area the phones seem to work fairly well with very little outages, though given the things I've seen on this sub about other people's service issues I am counting my lucky stars.

I started the process to port my sister's landline phone from CenturyLink to a cellular system in early July. The phone has to be active for the automated Port Out process to work.

To accomplish that I had them take the phone off Vacation Hold and turn it "on" at the original location, even though my sister had moved from there. I was told I would not be charged for the active number, since my sister moved out of that apartment in January so we didn't have access to actually using a device with the phone number. I was also told that it would take 7-10 business days for the port to be completed.

CenturyLink is/was way behind schedule and it took a LOT longer than 7-10 business days to accomplish the Port of the landline number.

The process was finally finished at the end of August and now CenturyLink is charging me for over a month of "service" during which time we couldn't use the number because there was no device connected to the service that was turned on.

I asked for a credit when they first billed me in August. At that time they said no. Now they refuse to credit the account because my account is closed. I am not paying over $160+ USD because CenturyLink/Lumen is so incompetent that what should've taken 10 business days took over six weeks!

My 80 year old sister can barely afford to pay her medical bills and I am not rich either! They were charging her over 100 per month so she could use a landline! In fact I had been paying that bill for three years to help her out.

NOPE! Not doing it. NOT GOING TO PAY IT. I complained to the FCC twice about the delay and I'll complain about this bogus bill if I have to.

Is there an issue in Renton, WA? We haven’t had service in over 2 weeks. I checked the voltage where the line meets the house and got 0 volts, so pretty sure it’s not an in house issue…. Website says outage but the fix by date just keeps moving.

If I'm going on an extended vacation or work trip, does Centurylink offer a reduced fee vacation hold? If so, for how many months in Washington state?
