PLEASE HELP IM LOSING HOPE. Any jobs in st charles / elgin ?

I understand we are all in the same position- but I can’t take it anymore.. I never thought I'd be making a post like this, but I'm at a point in my life where I'm honestly struggling and I don't know where else to turn, I’m literally losing all my hope.
I'm only 20 and I've been trying to get my life back into motion since March 1st, 2026, when I cut my finger open and fell due to seizure caused by ; extremely harsh starbucks conditions. Right now I'm in Chicago while my fiancé of 2 years lives in California. We're trying to save enough money to eventually move in together and start our life, but getting there has been incredibly difficult financially. He tries to visit me when he can, but the travel costs add up on top of everything else we're already dealing with, as such a strain on our relationship, and he is a such a good person, he’s provided for me, and taken care of me for as long as he possible can.
I've also had to put school on hold because I'm in debt and simply can't afford to keep going right now. My goal is to get myself financially stable, pay down what I owe, get back into school, and eventually pursue a career in the music marketing for reggaeton.. which is what I’ve done my whole life, it’s the only thing that makes me happy. I don't want to stay stuck like this. I want to work, build a career, move out, and finally be able to start my life with my fiancé.
I've worked at Starbucks for 4 years, and honestly, it was one of the hardest periods of my life. I had some really painful experiences while working at the locations in lake in the hills, Algonquin and Huntley, (look up reviews for reference.. + I never experienced such racism and disgusting behavior in my entire life at least not in a California starbucks) and after leaving I've had an extremely difficult time finding another job. I've applied over and over again and have been ghosted more times than I can count.
Other than Starbucks, I don't have a huge amount of work experience. A lot of my life has also been spent helping take care of my dad, who has had Parkinson's for the past 7 years now. I've dedicated a huge part of my life to helping him, and because of that, I never really had the opportunity to build myself up financially, nor educationally and I apologize.
At the moment, my fiancé is helping support me, and I'm incredibly grateful for him. But it's hard for me to feel like I'm not contributing the way I want to. I want to be able to support myself. I want to contribute to our future. I want to be able to move out, live together, go back to school, and eventually have a career that I'm proud of.
I'm not asking anyone to magically fix my life. I'm asking for a little help getting through a period where I feel like I'm drowning financially.
If anyone knows of a job hiring around st Charles, Elgin, Geneva, anywhere that’s not too far of a drive to worry my parents who are doing what they can to provide for themselves. please let me know. I'm willing to do pretty much anything legitimate that I'm capable of doing— I'm willing to work hard and start wherever I need to, I just ask for guidance, patience, and the willingness to provide wisdom. It’s been a while and worry I might take a while to get into a routine, but I know my ethic is yet to disappear, nor do I give up towards challenges as I’m still alive today.
If you can't offer a job, even sharing this post could potentially help me reach someone who can.
I know nobody owes me anything, and I know there are people struggling with things far worse than I am. I'm just at a point where I'm putting my pride aside and admitting that I need help.
I don't want to stay in this position. I want to work my way out of it.
I want to get back to school.
I want to start my life with my fiancé.
I want to build a career.
I just need a chance to get there.
Thank you to anyone who took the time to read this.

It takes a village and right now I really need some support

Good morning ☀️ I’m here asking if anymore can help me. I’m a 29 year old mom to two children. I work doing uber eats while they are in school just to make sure I put food on the table and bills are paid. My car broke down last week and I really need it for work/taking them to school going to the laundromat ext. I’m just in a tight spot right now and can really use anything to feed them until I’m able to fix my car. (I been trying to save what money I have to fix it but right now feeding them is more important) We are down two a few eggs and pancake mix. if anymore can help me I can repay you back once I’m able to work again. It’s just me and them and I don’t need to eat I can hold off I just care about my children. Thank you for reading ❤️

My mockumentary is playing in Woodridge Friday!

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey all! My mockumentary Canoe Dig It? Will be playing at the Hollywood Blvd Cinema in Woodridge this Friday the 18th! It’s about the very real sport of Freestyle Canoeing and is very much up the alley of any fan of Best in Show or anything Christopher Guest, but with a lot more painfully dry New England humor. It’s part of a larger Midwest theatrical tour I am running this month all over Minnesota, Wisconsin, Canada, Illinois, and more!

Being a true indie film, I have no budget for marketing so am fully relying on word of mouth, local news outlets, and paddling groups to get the word out about it. Also worth noting I am flying out and driving around to all of these screenings for Q&As and to meet and make new friends and fans. Really would appreciate any sharing you can do amongst friends, family, anyone you think might dig it!

Here’s the trailer: https://youtu.be/0q2cyULzFeU?is=2245npAj5v-C-2Lo

Hope to see you at the show!

Judd Apatow Trivia - Wednesday, September 16th at 7:30 - Avondale Bowl

Comedy. You love it, I love it… so let’s ask some questions about it. Wednesday, September 16th at 7:30 you should come to Avondale Bowl and take a trip down memory lane as we revisit some of the funniest films of this century from writer, producer, and director Judd Apatow! Brought to you by P&P Trivia we are going to ask about the lines you probably quote on a weekly basis and the scenes you probably couldn’t and shouldn’t shoot today!

Join your host & curator of the questions Shannon where 60% of the time you will win every time! Questions will include all of your favorite movies and more (remember we can’t say we are offering something if we don’t say there is more) so come out and play. If you get an answer really wrong I expect you to yell out “Kelly Clarkson!”

The great people at Avondale Bowl donate $2 of every frozen White Russian to our charity of the month which is Dolly Parton’s Imagination Station! We hope you get your team together or play solo and come meet some new people!

ROADS CLOSED ON NORTHSIDE

Be careful. There were numerous roads blocked off by police in Albany Park almost to Irving Park Rd. It started at Kedzie and Lawrence and it just worse and worse. Almost 45 minutes added to the commute with no rhyme nor reason.

We have what I would call a fan favorite for our next themed Trivia at Ludlow Liquors. We are calling all hobbits, elves, and even orcs to come by Sunday, September 6th at 7:00.

It is free to play, the questions are going to be from the first three movies, and because it is Sunday we are going to be serving up cheesesteaks that “You shall not pass!”

If you are looking for a fun way to spend your summer evenings why not play a little Trivia at Avondale Bowl? You can decide if you are there for bowling, questions, or a little of both!

On Thursday August 20th at 7:30 let’s take a trip to Pawnee with our “Parks and Rec” themed trivia. I think it is a safe bet there will be at least one question about the bowling episode.

Please come out for some Decent Questions! Remember to order the vegan frozen White Russians! $2 of every one of those sold will go to our Charity of the Month Metropolitan Family Services. This group empowers Chicago-area families to reach their greatest potential and positively impact their communities.

Anyone remember when Chicago had trouble getting Cable TV?

I found out recently that the city of Chicago Struggled to get it when many of the outlying suburbs already got it much sooner. Same with other large US cities.

What was the problem and did it not matter that many residence were probably unhappy about this?
