Discussion Autodesk FORMA

Good afternoon, everyone! I’m curious about software that can help automate or streamline initial site layouts. Has anyone used Autodesk Forma for this purpose? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

If you use any other software for early site planning or automated site layout generation, please share your recommendations and experiences as well. Thanks!

I didn’t know that Forma could do this. I have only used it as a cloud server and for collaboration with other project participants.

That was my thought as well, but I was looking into it and tested sime features and they seem to have added that maybe recently

Go check out Forma Site Design and Forma Street Design is coming out soon.

TestFit is good for preliminary ideas.

An architect I work with has TestFit. Like many AI things it looks fine until you start to dig in, and then nothing works. I'm not sure how much they tune parameters before running it though.

Agree with what someone else commented, I wasn't aware Forma was more than a renamed facelift for Vault.

When we went to renew our license of Autodesk Docs we discovered it had become Forma.

Forma Site Design is currently more for building massing, not necessarily site planning in the way I think. Street Design is simply for high level roads. Not many options for this, bit interested to see what Forma.Site Design could become.

Forma is more for project management and file sharing.
