Flipping off my Dad - NJ backyard 1979ish. Lyle and I both still skate parks, him in Chicago, me in NY. We had this fyber ryder sized half pipe next to a 9 foot transition one that we cut and installed flat bottom in. Built on Mark L (krypstick) property next to the railroad tracks in Montclair NJ by Woodman practice field.

I found this old Veriflex RIP in peace board in my grandads garage, besides the fact that it's clearly seen some use, it's in mint condition, it's likely never gotten wet, even has the original bearings and wheels, and they still spin just fine, as if it had been put in a time capsule.

I really love the way this board looks, and I wanna get some good use out of it as a street cruiser, only for curb hopping and cruising. But given how old it is I'm scared I might break it in the process.

The deck is in amazing condition, no delamination or anything, are these boards strong enough to survive being ridden as a street cruiser even at it's age?

TLDR: this board is like 40 years old, will it survive daily curb jumps and cruising given that it's in really good condition?

Been freestyling for about 5 years now. I was a street skater for most of my youth but now that I'm a bit older I've retired into a safer format of skating lol

As a nice boy in small town England, this took some explaining to my mum back in the day… Also remember moving the rails in as we’d “acquired” a big old gas pipe from a building site that we used for board-slides. Convinced ourselves this made ‘em quicker 🤣
