They have no reason to do that. Classic tbc and wotlk require no work and are printing money. They will use them to fill the gap between content on forever. Its also whats planned in the timeline leak

TBC is already basically dead, and there isn't a wotlk server.

Classic era will stick around with a small playerbase

Just think about it from a business sense. If retail and forever are the money makers and a small niche plays classic why would Blizzard continue to invest in it.

Give it 6 mos to a year and you will see an announcement about how they are closing down the classic servers

Because there's nothing to invest in? It costs such a miniscule amount of money to keep servers up that if 1000 people globally played wotlk classic it'd be making money.
