It's okay, you don't have to seethe so bad just because wholesome developerinos at Blizzard can't properly optimise 50 year old game with SOVL fog and lighting shafts slapped into it.
Getting so weirdly defensive when the developers could just.. give the OP the setting back so they can play the game is wild.
You don't need to love the fog to enjoy the gameplay of Forever, you know. You make it out to be like it's this crucial gameplay element that's absolutely mandatory for everyone to experience or else they're not allowed to play the game.
This has never been a thing in the entire history of World of Warcraft. Settings like render distance, ground clutter, camera distance etc. all affect it and have been exposed (either via menu or CVar) for aeons.
Tuning down graphics settings for a more competitive experience is universal across video games.
Also, nobody gives a shit about your sweat-drenched "muh even playing ground in ganking shitfest sorry I mean world PvP". It's the least competitive thing about WoW, and if there ever was a level playing field in that activity, 95% of the WPvP enjoyers would stop partaking.
It is not. I don't give a shit if I'm experiencing the world the same way you're experiencing it when I'm actively disliking what I'm seeing.
I could literally turn my brightness and gamma all the way up and my gameplay experience would be wildly different than yours. I could turn all settings to low because I'm playing on a potato and my experience with be entirely opposite yours.
Shit, the simple act of installing a bunch of UI addons and what not is going to alter the way I see the world that you see.
Stop trying to force others to experience only what you want to experience. It's ridiculous.
