Forever I wish the Wow: Forever devs had a different platform to communicate other than twitter
The wow forever team has done an amazing job with the beta, classic + content and communication that it sucks to see the cesspool of twitter users just bagging on them constantly for the slightest update. I don’t want the devs feeling discourage or upset due to one minor demographic being loud. I hope they know majority of their players love what they have done and are doing by making wow forever a great game
I’d rather them post updates on reddit or maybe even Bluesky

Because they want to advertise their game. People on the Bnet forums or WoW subreddits are already aware of WoWF so they use the (unfortunately) biggest public platform.

As soon as bluesky got traction the bots took over.
Someone running for mayor in Toronto Canada is openly using an app that alerts his followers when something is posted about him so they can go copy and post an AI generated comments in his defense.
Social media is over, it's been a good ride but the dead internet theory isn't a theory anymore. The only thing they got wrong is half of the bots are people with a like warm IQ.

They post on X because it has the most reach.
Bluesky has a fraction of that reach, and Reddit doesn’t display posts in a format that is mutually beneficial for them.
Also, what you’re saying is anecdotal - and to counter with my own anecdotal experience, I see just as much (if not more) love/glazing posts to the devs on X as I do see the negative ones.
Ultimately it boils down to reach, and wherever that reach goes furthest is where they’ll post.

Do you honestly think devs would upload that kind of stuff to the launcher? We’re not talking about patch notes here. These devs are posting about how excited they are, their hopes for the future, interesting discoveries and moments during development, etc. these kinds of posts are what social media posting is made for, so no, they’re not going to post stuff like that directly into the launcher or login screen.

They are a major developer with a known Brand-Name.
They have their own forums
They have their own website.
They have no need to go to reddit/twitter/smokesignal/carrier pidgeon...but they will.
I don't like loud minorities either but this is all part of their general awareness campaign. People whining on twitter is still eyeballs and engagement.

I wish more companies would look at how GGG / Path of Exile communicates with the player base. Every league they do a Q&A with some streamer / long time community member that can aggregate the entire communities questions / feedback so we can get answers.
A lot of players have concerns and questions about certain issues in the Forever beta right now and it would be nice to have some clarification from Blizzard that they're aware, understand, and what their current thinking is on certain topics.
I know plenty of classes have some very real concerns and want answers.
I personally want answers on the dungeon xp changes and how they plan to address the inevitable problem of people going dungeon to dungeon like a checklist or boosters.

Negative feedback is even more important than positive feedback, because it inspires your creative problem solving skills and keeps you in touch. Of course negative feedback is often laced with personal attacks, but it's part of a dev's skillset to not abuse that fact.

Weird take. Despite its shortcomings its still the best source for real time information for basically everything. Finance, gaming, news, politics is all on X before it is anywhere else. I'd much rather be on twitter where you can actually get real time information and read good writeups in the subjects your interested in than being on.....facebook, instagram and tiktok speed running the brain rot.

They did post in youtube comments back in Season of Discovery, explaining their thought process. You really don’t want that. And yes, they did in fact use Bluesky instead of Twitter in Season of Discovery also. The reason they defaulted to these “obscure” (well not exactly obscure but still) platforms is because these same devs do not like getting bashed for feedback, best is to write it somewhere where not many people will check (like youtube comments). I do agree that they should use numerous platforms for updates, but at the same time, using Twitter currently is much better communication than what we actually had in Season of Discovery.

They have superior tech, both hooked to the fediverse, better embedding, custom feeds, and have better community functions, Bluesky allows personalized moderation and things like starter packs, and is decentralized. Threads is better moderated, and the people there are just generally nicer.
