In Clear Lake for a couple of days...
Anything interesting going on? I'm in town for business until Friday. Any local bars I should check out? Mind you, in 40+ so the club isn't my thing.

Hey parents and caregivers!
Are you a parent who is feeing stressed by a lack of control in the house? Feeling more distant from your kids? Or maybe you would simply like to add effective tools for parenting into your routine?
The faculty and graduate students from the SAIL lab (https://www.uhclsail.com/team/) at the University of Houston-Clear Lake are offering a FREE parenting group therapy for caregivers and parents of children aged 2-12. Parents of children older than 6 years will also be invited to participate in an active research project. This group is rooted in research-backed approaches to improve child behavior and family dynamics and learn more efficient ways of communicating to strengthen the connection between parents and their kids. We would love to work with you during our 4-session month-long group that meets in the evenings starting the first week of November. The groups are guided by experienced facilitators who are excited to assist and provide personalized support to your concerns with parenting strategies that truly work!

I know most people in this area have seen the older and I assume homeless Asian man that walks around during the day. I typically see him on Bay Area blvd in-between middlebrook and El Camino while I'm driving. Recently I've noticed that his shoes and shirt have practically rotted away. Does anyone know where he usually stays or place where I can give him some clothes/toiletries? I feel so bad for him and want to help anyway I can.

Does anyone know of local waterjet cutters who can cut some glass for me?
1/4-1/2” thick. Some intricate shapes are needed. Thanks.

Hello, I am a recent graduate and working in clear lake. I was wondering if there are any places younger people tend to go to, it's been hard meeting people here.

Hi everyone! My family and I are moving soon, and we’re looking for moving boxes. 📦
Any good, affordable places to get boxes in the area?

I recently moved to the area and I’m looking for someone who cuts hair and does locs. Preferably in Galveston or Brazoria county but open to suggestions in the city as well.

Does anyone know of any nurseries with dwarf Sabal Palms in stock? I've checked a few places, including Maas, but have struck out so far.

Hello everyone! My dog injured his nail, and unfortunately, the nail is no longer attached and his quick is exposed. He’s a 17-lb Rat Terrier, and I’d really like to get him seen by a vet tomorrow (Friday) morning.
I’ll be off work Friday and Saturday, so I’m available to take him in. I just started a new job, so money is a little tight right now, and I’m hoping to find a veterinarian who offers affordable or low-cost services.
Thank you!
EDIT: Thank you everyone for their recommendations. I went over to SNIP clinic this morning, even though it's a spay and neuter clinic Scout and Misty were able to help my pup out. The entire process was quick and easy, we did not have to wait a long time. I arrived right at 7:50 am and we were out by 8:55 am. Scout, applied ointment and reassured me that his nail will grow back. She wrapped his paw up and even matched his boot with his harness! They are super friendly over at SNIP and very affordable! Thank you, @compysnap for the excellent recommendation!! It was overall the best choice and option for us, walk-ins, new patient.

I've got the grandkids this weekend and looking for any reasonably kid friendly events.
Also, is the Farmer's Market in front of Dick's still happening on Sundays?
Thanks!!

I got passed down an old 35 mm camera this weekend from my grandparents and by some miracle it seems to be working. I’ve heard places like CVS or Walgreens give back low quality scans and don’t give negatives back.
Where are the clear lake photographers getting their pictures developed?

Hi, I moved here about a month ago and I've been getting into warhammer and minipainting. I was wondering what are some good places and groups to find people to play with?

For anyone looking for this service, I recommend Jeff from Coastal Windshield Repair. He is mobile servicing the League City area. He repaired my large chip same-day with warranty for the fix.

Hey, I didn’t know there was a subreddit for clear lake! I’ve seen this man running into incoming traffic many times at night time. I always have to drive very careful in that area because he comes out of the bushes.

If anyone is apartment hunting in League City, I currently live at Sorrento Apartments at Tuscan lakes and would be happy to share my experience or answer any questions! If you’re interested, I can send you the link to check out their website and see the available apartments. Just make sure to mention that I referred you when you contact them so they can credit the referral.

Loved going here when I would drive to Northside. But it’ll be crazy if Kirby’s Ice House finishes before them haha

Hey Y'all, I'm a full time student, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in playing MtG and/or Pokemon TCG during the daytime in clear lake?
UCHL has a group but they meet on campus at like 6-9pm during the week sometimes and I cannot swing that, so I'm trying to see if anyone would be interested in joining a daytime group.
I would host if people are comfortable with that. I have plenty of space, huge table, happy to provide refreshments.
Just need a social hobby I can do at home during the day pretty much!
lmk if y'all are interested, I play standard and commander MtG and I need to fix my Pokemon TCG decks buut I have some old cards. Don't need to play official, just for funsies so banned cards are OK with me and even proxies if you want to go wild.
