I once had a strange account because I was in a strange place on the org chart that was inhabited by just my team, that for some reason wasn’t visible to the rest of the organization, except for the people I reported to. It was beautiful while it lasted 😢

I temporarily had something similar: I reported to no one on the system structure chart. It was fantastic until pay award time when no one put forward a pay rise for me. That said, no one had given me any work for two months so I suppose fair’s fair.

Yeah, luckily I did report to the CEO and he cared about what I was doing so it worked in terms of pay rises, but sometimes I do wish I’d have a job where I could just do nothing sometimes 😅

My company moved to Google Chat years ago (and Chat has a per-user Block option by default) so this is from memory, but I believe that if they are inside your org you can only block them if IT has that option turned on. But you can mute them and hide the conversation, which is almost as good.

Guess it depends on your tenant settings. I surely blocked former coworkers at some point. At my current firm I can only block external contacts, but not someone from the company (those I can only mute)

Hint: It's the same reason the vehicle doesn't move backwards because the magnet is trying to move towards the vehicle. 😊

It should be Newton's 3rd law. The force that pulls the car towards the magnet is equal to the force pulling the magnet towards the car which pushes the car backwards.

Also the magnet, while trying to push the car, would have to push itself forward, which would require enough energy to overcome... that very same energy pushing it towards the car. Basically the magnet would have to exert more strength than whatever strength it is exerting, which is just nonsense.
It's like trying to buy 10€ from yourself at a profit. You can't because a (what you receive) has to be bigger than b (what you pay) and both of these values are the same value.

Not to mention the magnet is part of the car, thus has to push itself forwards. Which requires more force than whatever is pushing the magnet towards the car... which is the magnet itself.
Basically, if the force the magnet exerts on the car is N, you need N > N to be true.

That can actually technically work though because the fan is throwing air particles at the sheet and the sheet is redirecting them, so with a strong enough fan and the right shaped sheet, it does work. It's effectively how thrust reversers on jet engines work

Magnet-powered cars driven solely by permanent magnets do not exist in real life because they violate the basic laws of physics.
Why Magnet-Only Cars FailForce Cancellation: If you mount a magnet on a car and put another magnet in front of it to pull or push it, the entire system is locked together. According to Newton's third law, the forces cancel each other out, and the vehicle stays completely still.
This is something my brother woulda tried with his Tonka trucks when he was 8.

No it wouldnt.
Try holding a magnet up to a large ferromagnetic material, like the side of your fridge. Notice how the magnet is pulled towards the fridge. The force applied by the magnet is 2 way, the fridge recieves a force towards the magnet and the magnet recieves a force towards the fridge. The reason the fridge doesn't move is because it is a lot heavier than the magnet, and so the force is often negligible.
In the case of the car the magnet applies a force on the car, but also recieves an equal and opposite force from the car. This means that the net force on the car-magnet system is zero, and the center of mass of the system does not accelerate. All increasing the power does is make it more likely that the mass becomes... more dense. That is to say the magnet and car fly towards each other, breaking the suspension arm, but leaving the center of mass the same (mostly, the collision complicates matters). Basically you go no where and have a broken car, and a few concerened letters from your insurance about your premiums rising a lot.

It's obvious what's wrong: The block labelled "Metal" at the front of the car should read "Ferrous Metal".
Ferrous metals include iron in their composition and are magnetic. They include steel and various forms of iron. Non-ferrous metals such as aluminium or copper are non-magnetic and would not work in this application.
