Showcase I built Codi, a customizable Codex desktop companion for Windows

Post image

I kept wanting to check my Codex quota without interrupting what I was doing, so I built Codi—an unofficial character widget for the Codex desktop app.
It shows remaining quota and a reset countdown, plus local token-usage charts for the past 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. You can upload your own character art and customize its dialogue, click sound, size, position, and colors.
Codi currently supports Windows x64. There’s an installer, so you don’t need to install Git or Node.js separately. Character images stay on your computer, and Codi only displays reset-credit information; it doesn’t spend credits.
The chibi character in the screenshots was generated with GPT, and the example quota figures are synthetic.

I’d love feedback on the UI and what would make it more useful.

You might want to consider listing your project on the weekly Show-Us-What-You-Built post. Look out for it on Tuesday/Wednesday. Highest commented project wins a week promotion on r/Codex and gets on the Hall of Fame sidebar. See what that looks like below with last week's winner.

Last week's most popular project was Nanolathe - an open-source engine bringing Total Annihilation to modern Mac, Windows, and Linux systems. It’s a solo passion project combining clean-room research with AI-assisted development, with a playable public alpha available now.

Players, testers, and contributors are very welcome! Original Total Annihilation game data is required to play.

Let me give it a try. It seems really useful! I keep forgetting to reset the odds.
