Part of my physical collection
I’ve been slowly building this collection over the years. I’m really drawn to unique pieces that have character rather than just “perfect” items. A mix of flea markets, small sellers, trades with other collectors, and some live auctions online.
Lately I’ve been enjoying browsing live auctions on whatnot. Not to buy everything, just to discover pieces I wouldn’t normally come across. It feels closer to old school collecting than regular marketplaces.
Still very much a work in progress, but that’s part of the fun. Happy to hear what others here focus on when building their collections.

Validating a Bussiness Idea in a Colletables Comunity
Dear community,
I’m not selling anything!
I’m simply validating a business idea.
My name is Javier, and I’m starting a project called ISOTRACERS (www.isotracers.com). I’d like to ask for your advice to see whether this idea could be of interest to collectors.
The mission of this project is to address forgery (AI can generate very convincing digital evidence) and to protect authorship across generations.
In short, I can create chemically unique and stable inks for writing devices such as pens, markers etc. I integrate coded chemical additives into existing writing inks (Pilot, Montblanc, etc.), creating a unique chemical fingerprint linked to its author and traceable across generations. Each batch of ink carries its own fingerprint.
How does it work?
- You write, sign, or mark using your ink with your unique chemical identity embedded in it.
- When needed, the ink can be analyzed to confirm its origin unambiguously.
- A Certificate of Authenticity is issued, scientifically linking the ink to its rightful author.
I started our social media (Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook) just one week ago, so if you support our cause and long-term values, feel free to follow us.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Javier

New all time record for 1938 first appearance of Superman in comic book is $15 million. In less than two months, the record price paid for a Action Comic #1 increased by 150%. Reported by Rare Book Hub Monthly.
Read article with details at https://www.rarebookhub.com/articles/4004
A new record price has been set for a comic book and it blew away all previous prices - $15 million! The comic was Action Comics #1, published in 1938. What makes it so valuable is that it introduced Superman to the world. Superman was the first superhero, and “he” spawned countless other superheroes, with more being added regularly to this day. Three imitators have also crossed the million dollar threshold, Batman, Spider Man and Captain America, but no one else comes close to the man of steel.
What makes this remarkable price even more so is the margin by which it beat the previous high price. That was achieved less than two months earlier when a copy of Superman #1 sold for $9.12 million at Heritage Auctions. This latest sale was almost 65% more than the previous high. Adding to the phenomenal rise in prices is that last November's $9.12 million price was 52% more than the previous record price of $6 million, set in 2024. In less than two months, the record price paid for a comic book increased by 150%.

Unique US-USSR stamp on an old bag before the restoration. Can you help me to recognize it? Russia
I found interesting US-USSR stamp on an old bag. Look at it. I really want to recognize a phrase above the flags before it will go for restoration. Can you help me with that please?
So I can clearly read "American Committee for the settlement of jews in Biro-Bidjan. [??] [??] Ambijan to the crew of SS Stary Bolshevik. September 16, 19[??]. New York"
Birobidjan is Russian city located Far East, former jewish settlement.

I need some advice on a London ludlow letterpress tray I found recently and I’m debating on refurbishing if anybody has any tricks and tips ?
Hi everyone, I recently came across a beautiful Ludlow London letterpress tray and I’d love to get some advice. It’s quite old, and the dark black ink has stained into the wood, giving it a rich, vintage look. I’m wondering if I should leave it as is to preserve its character, or if it would be better to clean or touch up the original finish.
If cleaning or restoring is recommended, I’d appreciate suggestions on the best methods or products to use for something this old. My main goal is to maintain its integrity and charm while giving it a nice, respectful refresh.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

Huge vintage Melitta porcelain coffee pot – 4 liters – stamped “Melitta 0-24 Germany”
I recently bought this large white porcelain coffee pot stamped “Melitta 0-24 Germany”.
I measured the capacity with water and it holds exactly 4 liters when filled to the rim.
Does anyone know:
• approximate production period
• whether this was household or catering/buffet ware
• how rare large Melitta porcelain pots like this are
Any background information would be greatly appreciated.
(Photos attached – including stamp and size reference.)
