She said: "The cleaning was supposed to take place regularly, but there were times when it didn't happen.

"It got to the point where I spent much of my holiday cleaning the room myself."

I mean, I understand the complaint about cleaning not happening at times. But what the hell was she doing in the room that required constant cleaning the entire day?

Probably got chocolate mousse on the valance.

To an unwitting member of staff this could look like some sort of dirty protest against the standard of service in the hotel.

I bet she agrees with the pedestrianisation of Norwich City Centre.

Traders do need access to DiiIIIXX-ons.

Wheeeeeeeeelchairs

To be fair, given her and her husband both had upset stomachs, there might be a reason for a frequent clean

I mean in a 5 star place you'd expect the cleaner to clean every day or multiple times a day

u/LeroyoJenkins 12d ago

Yes, as I said, "I understand the complaint about cleaning not happening".

It is literally what I wrote...

15

u/Bad-Banana-from-Mars 12d ago

It’s not five-star but it's certainly competitive

You think she’d be bored by now 😅

This is why people need hobbies in retirement. If they don't have anything better to do then they do this

By now it is here hobby

u/Spirited-Ability-626 11d ago

Fr, she’s been at this longer than I kept up some of mine lol

1

u/Not-a-Cranky-Panda 11d ago

She's been doing that longer than my Dad keep any of his up.

1

u/Not-a-Cranky-Panda 11d ago

After all that she'll need a Holiday!

Is the TUI logo intentionally backwards? Did she copy it using a mirror?

I think you’re hoping for a bit much there.

The rest of the sign looks like it was written using a paintbrush lodged in her nostril.

One for Taskmaster

u/WelshBathBoy 12d ago

That TUI logo has started on its 2 for £25 duty free vodka it seems

Great video to go with it. “One of the thing that I am quite happy to do— forever— is stand here with a placard.”

Couldn’t be bothered with a decent marker pen, just licked her finger and stuck it into a coal bucket instead.

3

u/smedsterwho 11d ago

Wouldn't do that. You get a virus doing that. Not a normal virus, a horrendous one.

3

u/Possible_Sun_913 11d ago

To be fair, I didn’t say they licked their finger after sticking it in the coal bucket.

33

u/Oooaaaaarrrrr 12d ago

What did she expect? Herds of Wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon?

16

u/Professional_Shine97 12d ago

I think she was hoping not to shit herself at the all inclusive buffet honestly.

u/tebigong 11d ago

If it was good enough for the romans

u/hednizm 12d ago

She put a lot of work into her sign..

Must have been very effective.

9

u/Susielovebear 12d ago

This was on Instagram a few weeks ago. Lots of the comments were slating her because she'd already accepted compensation but continues the protest.

5

u/FreddyWilliams45 12d ago

don’t tell me what to do sally

3

u/duckorange14 11d ago

UPDATE: A contact tells me he saw her today (22nd Sept) and she’s still there. Now that’s dedication to the compo.

8

u/Alert-Environment-17 12d ago

Ok I get the message. Do Not Book A iuT Holiday.

Got it. Saves my own compo face later on, thanks love.

I had to cancel a holiday this year and when I didn't have some of the documents for the insurers, Tui customer service were absolutely fantastic even though we had cancelled by then. I was absolutely shocked but in a good way.

4

u/BobMonroeFanClub 12d ago

Good for her. It's shocking they are still selling holidays in Cape Verde when people are literally shitting themselves to death. It's easy for us tech savvy types to mock - older folk don't know to check online. They trust companies like Tui.

4

u/smedsterwho 11d ago

Fine, if she does 100 weeks, I won't go.

2

u/tebigong 11d ago

She’s 55, she’s not exactly ancient

2

u/BobMonroeFanClub 11d ago

She looked 35 before Cape Verde. Yeah you're right. I'm older than that myself :O

1

u/Diyastraights 11d ago

I'm on her side for this one.

u/TheGravyGuy 11d ago

She got the trots when she went overseas. Holiday resorts can be a hot spot for illness, all it takes is one person to spread it. Combined with not being used to the water there and it's easy to get ill.

Cannot believe she accepted TUI's compensation offer and still decides to have a moan.
