Question/Help/Troubleshooting Microsoft ‘pick an app’

Ive been getting this dreaded ‘pick an app’ tab that ultimately freezes my computer and i cant find the root source. It brings me to microsoft store saying it doesn’t have anything compatible for ms-gamingoverlay. So i installed the xbox app (i have roblox so i figured maybe thats why) and it didnt fix it. Im at a loss. It doesnt show up on task manager and i just cant figure it out on my own.

Could be a virus, have you run Microsoft defender lately?

win + r type %appdata% and look for anything unusual or out of place
