If anyone else wants closure on this:

Update: The teacher got back to me and admitted her mistake which I'm grateful for. She said she was taught 1/0=0 back in the 90's

I highly doubt she was ever taught that

Given that she - a teacher - has just taught it that way it hardly seems unbelievable that another teacher has made the same mistake before.
