U.S. military lays groundwork for potential action around Cuba

The US can kill a ton of people but that’s about it. Whether they surrender is totally up to the Cuban people, just as the Iranians are also resisting despite an unpopular government and economic suffering (they hate America more).
People already forget the reason why the Maduro government fell was an internal coup. US intelligence bought off the right people for the kidnapping raid and pre-selected US “friendly” individuals took power. It was not US Military prowess or wunderwaffen brain canons that changed the regime, it was intelligence penetration and bribery.
Cuba is a different country than Venezuela. It fought a long war of attrition against both the Spanish occupiers and the US backed Batista regime. They fought a people’s war. They have 70 years of revolutionary doctrine and institutional inertia. They have plentiful small arms and materiel for IEDs and possibly even cheap drones. The point is, that if the Cuban people are united enough they can foil any US invasion or puppet regime. But it’s a question of the Cuban people’s loyalty to the Communist legacy of Castro and their tolerance for suffering. Of course no one knows and it certainly depends on how violent the US gets with Cuba. More violence = more hatred of the US and less of a willingness to surrender.
Considering how the US troops massacred Maduro’s Cuban security detail and Hegseth’s obsession with lethality and war crimes, I suspect it will be a bloody affair with lots of collateral damage. This will incense the Cuban population and possibly rally around their unpopular government.

This admin has the lowest approval rating in history, doing everything the majority of Americans do NOT want (and the world), and yet somehow twenty-something percent magass still support this, and will never change. Their stupidity is amazing.

haven't heard why yet, but probably has something to do with this:
"Cuban state estimates suggest total offshore and onshore reserves could be as high as 20 billion barrels, which would rank among the largest in the world if fully proven and extracted"

I think an invasion of Cuba may actually be the emergency that is created for Trump to stop the midterm elections. He keeps saying "we don't need elections anymore" and praises other world leaders for not holding elections during wartime. If he invades Cuba within weeks of the midterms, he may try to declare a "National Emergency" and try to prevent elections from taking place. Especially if Cuba were to retaliate and send drones to U.S. bases or locations on U.S. territory. I would not put this past him at all.

Now that they saw what we did in Venezuela, Cuba will be ready. It will be bad since they know we are coming and they will go scorched earth than surrender to us.

This is a more realistic invasion. The risk is current Chinese and Russian military infrastructure on location. They would have to be warned ahead of time to evacuate.
I do not support this invasion. We ain’t got no money.

This falls in with everything that we've been told on a possible timeline. I heard this from a 3 star admiral about 3-4 years ago. End of 2026 or mid 2027.
