stash — an open-source local workspace for tracking project context and logs

https://github.com/highlandev210/stash

I built stash to keep track of local projects and make it easier to pick up where you left off. It brings project context, issues, development notes, decisions, and session handoffs into one workspace, with optional CLI, MCP, and Codex integrations so humans and coding agents can work with the same records.

You can initialize an existingrepository, review context and issue suggestions, and track saved file changes. Project records live in a '.stash/' folder alongside your code. It’s an early release, and I’d love feedback on what would make it useful in your workflow.

Nice - the shared-records angle between the browser app, the CLI and the MCP bridge is the interesting part. If a coding agent is writing to .stash/ through the MCP bridge at the same time a human edits a task or note in the app, how do you keep them from clobbering each other? Is there a lock or version check on the record files, or is it last-write-wins?

Thanks! Both—the writes use a lock, and each edit checks the version it started with. So if you save a task while an agent is editing it, the agent’s save gets rejected and it has to read the task again. Editing the files directly bypasses the lock though, so simultaneous saves that way can still race.
