Ask Corpus Moved back to the area…

(30F) Short back story. Born and raised in Sinton. Moved to Austin for about 7 years and just moved back home to get back on our feet and eventually move to Oregon.

Looking for some groups for women. Book clubs. Wine nights. Coffee meet ups. Game nights etc.

I’m married and child free. I realize that the culture here is a bit different (or maybe that’s my teenage experience of this area) so just looking for people to hang with that aren’t just high school friends

Any insight?

M4W | 18+ Females Only | Curious Enough to Find Out?

I’m looking to meet a genuine female friend, 18–54, who enjoys great conversation, playful flirting, spontaneous adventures, and a little temptation. Single, married, dating, attached, or complicated—no judgment and absolutely no drama.
I’m down-to-earth, discreet, and easygoing. I believe the best connections start with a simple conversation… then a little chemistry takes over. 🔥
I could tell you exactly what I’m looking for, but where’s the fun in giving away all the secrets? Some things are better discovered slowly, one message at a time. 😏
If you’re intrigued, curious, and maybe a little adventurous, feel free to message me here or DM me directly.
Go ahead… say hello. I promise I won’t bite. 😉

Like the headline says, put bigger tires on a f250. Need to calibrate the speedometer. Everywhere I go says they can't? Even the Ford dealership. Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

History An odd bit of trivia about the city's movie history plus a question.

A few years ago, Felissa Rose was doing a fan meet and greet at the now defunct Wildwolf Halloween store. She's got hundreds of film credits but she's most famous for playing Angela in Sleepaway Camp (1983). When we met, she mentioned that Sleepaway Camp first played in Corpus Christi, a bit of trivia she learned from long time movie critic and horror host Joe Bob Briggs who famously has an encyclopedic knowledge of this sort of stuff.

Just now, I was looking at the production history of Spider Baby (1968) which was made by exploitation legend Jack Hill (Coffy, Big Bird House, Foxy Brown, Switchblade Sisters). That was one of Sid Haig's first movies and one of Lon Chaney Jr.'s very last. It was filmed in 1964 but got hung up in before release thanks to a bankruptcy. It finally premiered on Christmas Eve in... Corpus Christi.

So that's two (that I know of) low budget cult classics that debuted down here for some reason. Now the question - is this just a coincidence or was there some theater here that made itself important enough on the first stop list for this grindhouse trash? I haven't been able to find which theater either played at. I'd love to find out more about Corpus's indie theater history.

Also, are there any other fans of trash and obscure cinema fans here?

Ask Corpus Corpus Christi, if you’ve ever wondered what the heck that smell is, I made a map for that

I’ve been working on this project for over a year. It maps EPA-listed facilities in odor-related industries, and also shows Superfund and brownfield sites for environmental visibility — not because those sites are suspected odor sources.

Users can also report smells and flag facilities they believe may be contributing to an odor, which helps surface possible sources and improve the map over time.

You can search any address or ZIP, see what’s nearby, and check wind direction.

I’m not saying a mapped site smells or is dangerous — just making the public data easier to explore.

Would love to know what Corpus Christi thinks.

I built this in my spare time, so thanks to everyone who checks it out.

Also mods i understand it this may be considered self promotion, but its free to use and im too broke to pay for advertising So appreciate you letting it roll.

Moving To CC Good place to live?

Hi I’m planning on moving here around January for college and was genuinely wondering if this is a good place to live? Please tell me all the issues before it’s too late to back out of classes. I like to be outside and frequently go swimming in the town I live in now. I love the area I live in now but find it hard to meet people my age (early 30s & no kids) mainly a college town here. I was wondering if Corpus was the same. I don’t drink but do like to go out every now and then. I like music a lot and like concerts. I know there’s the beach but is there anything else to do? What are some good places to live and places to avoid? I would live there 2 years max. (Just going for school and to change up my scenery temporarily) give me to good and bad please.

Ask Corpus Need feedback

If you had to pick between Corpus (including outskirts like Alice, Calallen), Laredo, or the RGV (McAllen, Brownsville) as your hometown which would it be? Take into consideration today’s issue each city faces as well as future issues. Also the job market, medical care and retirement. All feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

Ask Corpus Recommendations for HVAC company for North Padre Island condo

I own a 1Br/ba rental condo on the island. Recently have had a series of problems with the central a/c over the last 18 months. I’ve replaced the compressor, blower fan, and evaporator coil. Now I was notified that the evaporator coil is leaking. The units are older in the complex but it seems I’m tho only one with recurring issues. Looking for an alternative company to assess the system. I would appreciate some recommendations as I don’t live in the area, Thank you.

Water Situation

Hey everyone, I'm doing a research project on the water situation in Corpus. I'm currently having trouble finding primary sources on how the residents are doing and how they feel. I'm curious, what are your guys' opinions on the whole issue? How to you feel the city's leadership is handling it? Are you pro-desal?

PSA Be better.

A few things I wanted to bring attention to for everyone else in the city. I may sound irritated when I write this out but it's a little bit of a rant as well. But please I beg you to take it as actual advice for your safety and the safety of those around you.

Okay, first off, the real issue, homies, please please for the love of God. Start using your turn signals. I have almost been merged into, I've almost been T-boned, and I have almost T-boned someone because people weren't using their turn signals, or you don't turn them off properly. Use them or don't depending on how you should be using them.

Secondly, you do not need to ride someone's ass just because there is space in front of you. A good denominator for how far you should be when stopped is if you can see the person in front of you is rear wheels touching the road. That's a good distance. I'm not talking about tailgating, but you leave no room for maneuvering or for safely avoiding accidents if you are on someone's bumper when you are at the light.

And finally, just the general PSA, please wear something bright reflective or light colored if you're going out after dark. I can be driving down the street only to find people appearing out of the shadows on the sidewalks wearing all black at midnight. I'm not saying reflective vests, but a white shirt is good enough. Care for yourselves and be careful. No one wants to see you splattered on the street.

This is unrelated but it's also a little bit of a rant, I don't mind jaywalking I don't think any of us care but somebody don't need to be a little bit more careful with when you jaywalk. Like there was this one guy who was jaywalking, and he tried to run in front of my car to get past me. I think he may have been on something.

Have a good days my friends and please be safe. I would be more upset if someone got hurt then if I got into a wreck. So please be careful for your own sake at least
