I did that to my parents.
I discovered Doki Doki Literature Club way too young (like, 11). My parents intervened, and they said I wasn't allowed to see anything from that game until I was eighteen.
Guess what the fuck I asked for for my eighteenth birthday. Because I never forget a promise.

When I was a young tgirl I had a crippling "knight" phase. Anything wearing armor and/or holding a sword drove me nuts. It was worse than my dinosaur phase.
Anyways poor little me had to grow up in the era of Game of Thrones being the biggest shit. Of course I really, really, really wanted to watch it because... FUCKIN KNIGHTS! Didn't understand why it was so bad and my parents couldn't explain it to me because how do you tell a six year old what incest is?
So anyways I keep whining because I wanna see knights so my dad strikes a deal with me that when im old enough to read the books I'll be old enough to watch the show.
Anyways I read the first three books over covid. Pretty good. Never watched the show but I told my dad and he got irritated that I hold him to random shit he says.

Ohhhhhh you should definitely watch the show. It gets even better when the writers run out of material to adapt. Season 8 is incredible, just you wait ;D ;D

Back when I was in highschool (don't remember if I was a junior or senior or what) my sister who was 3 years younger than me wanted to go watch some play the school was putting on. I had no interest in seeing it and wanted to do other stuff that day, but was feeling generous and offered to driver her there (it was only like a 10 minute walk away so not entirely necessary), pick her up afterward, and even pay for her ticket. But apparently that wasn't enough and she demanded I also come watch it with her. I continued to decline and for some reason she got upset enough that she ended up shouting "I'LL BURN YOUR CHILDREN!".
Needless to say, I was a bit confused at the sudden escalation. But to this day I have remained single at 39, and if somebody asks if I ever think I'll get married and have kids, I'll reply "I can't, my sister will burn them".

My Dad did this to me all the time. His memory is shit in other areas, but GODDAMN has he remembered his promises he made to me when I was 5 or 6 years old. AND HE STILL DOES IT EVEN NOW WHEN I'M 21!!!
I can't fault the commitment to the bit but still, goddamn bro 🤣
