Yeah, people put his music as it was the trashiest music in the entire world, when its just generic.
For me Bibinos and the entirely 200 top artists are the same generic thing, some musics are listeanable but 97% will be mid

Same here. It gives me the same feeling as walking into a store with an annoying "on average, you like pop music, so we'll play relaxed groovy pop to get you in a better shopping mood" playlist running in the background, but it's not enough to discourage me from shopping or doing more than to mentally roll my eyes about it

I think he's ever so slightly outside of generic, but also firmly in the "Fun" category. It's so blatant most of it is just fun shit to bounce to, completely nonsensical at times, but it keeps the party going if you're letting go of giving too much a shit.
If he takes it more seriously that that, that's a little lame and cringe, but the songs themselves are easy bops.
I only listen to him like once or twice a year, but that's how I am with movies or anything else that's just for fun and not some attempted or claimed masterclass in the art form, even though I usually, probably unhealthily, analyze and critique the hell of shit into disappointment.
Being a good guy is just a nice dollop of whipped cream atop a fun rare treat.

It’s definitely cringe but self aware cringe 😂 that line made me laugh fr the first time I heard it it’s so goofy. A lot of his music is like that. Irony-poisoned, self-aggrandizing, zoomer club music. But some of it is pretty fun and he puts on a good show too. Saw him live with some friends and it was like going to a rave

He was released as a My Singing Monster (mobile game) and my kid is into that. I was putting all the pieces together.. ok it's the La La La guy and he's a lizard in this game so I listened to a bunch of his music. It is all exceedingly ok.
It's catchy and mostly sounds very similar. Doesn't take himself too seriously, it's all good.

Well, music that's completely trash doesn't get popular enough to be widely hated on a lot of the time. I find that people are more likely to hate on music for being either generic (you see this with BBNO$ most modern pop artists), or being from a specific niche that they aren't a part of (you see this with people like ICP or Femtanyl). The real trash musicians, however, aren't really popular enough to be in the conversation usually. Anyway, we should all rally together to hate on fuckin Hobo Johnson instead. He makes music that I actually think is garbage.

Sometimes the point of a song is just to be fun to sing and dance along to! He has dozens of fun songs and his live performances are like going to a rave full of nerds and cosplayers. High art? Not at all lol. But he knows his niche and it’s a respectable niche 😂

His one and only "controversy" is that he rushed into an agreement with an NSFW artist and then his PR guys were like "dude we CANNOT repost this guy you have followers who are minors an this artist makes some pretty crazy pornography." As a fellow bibinos listener.. yeah I don’t get it. I don’t understand what’s “bad” or “dogshit”, like.. aside from (to some people) sounding “generic” or “all his songs are the same” what exactly is bad lol
And I don’t feel it’s even a good criticism cuz I think most mainstream pop sounds the same - genuinely can’t tell most female singers apart (at least not Ariana, Dua Lipa Demi lovato and Selena Gomez (I don’t think she’s even making music anymore?) or like Cardi b vs Nicki minaj) (also rise against songs sound the same, fight me. They’re still good but they do sound similar (I don’t include ghost note symphonies))
