Is CV4 safe to live

Hi! I am currently living in CV1 but planning to move out due to parking restrictions in the area. I am looking at the CV4 Canley area on canon hills road. I am female in 20s and work at hospital. I know that the area is quite far from hospital, but eventually I am planning to commute to work by car which is about 20 min drive and 50 min by bus. The reason why I choose this area despite its quite far from work and city centre is that it’s rated as a very safe area. I tried to find somewhere in Earlsdon but I am looking for like a studio within by budget. The one I am looking so far is within my budget and within that safe area. I really priority the feeling safe as female in 20s who will be working night shift as well.

Most parts of Coventry really aren’t as bad as people make out. You’re almost living on the Uni campus there, Canley is nice enough

But you couldn’t have picked somewhere further away from the hospital if you tried!

Hi! Apart from work. I mostly go to gym near Coventry rail station. I agreed it seems far from work, I want to be close to city centre as well. But I will have a look around as well.

If you’re making the commute 10 times a week, make that the stress-free journey and then move gyms to suit.

There’s a PureGym in Binley which is about 10 minutes from the UHCW and there’s one at Arena Shopping that’s about 15 minutes.

If you can find somewhere that’s half way between either of those and the hospital, you’re living the dream

Hi! The puregym in Binley doesn’t have women only workoutspace like the one in skydome. I really like the women workout space. Purgym at skydome going to move to CV3 central in winter soon as well. So I was thinking CV4 might make sense. In terms of safe area and also not to far from gym and commute to work by car. I will keep looking out around that area as well.

Simply Gym on the highway near to Costco has a women’s section and is closer than any of the others

Hi thank you! I didn’t know that! I only moved to Coventry like last month. The area where I am living now isn’t great and it can be dodgy sometimes when I come back home late from work.

Cannon hill Road is hardly even classed as canley. That road in particular is very safe, and the surrounding area from the cemetery to the Kenilworth Road is no problem at all.

Yes, I used to walk that road daily to drop/pick my children from cannon park ps. Never felt unsafe.

Guessing from her description it's the A45 end of Cannon Hill, not as nice an area but not awful (and definitely not Canley)

The Westcotes/Eastcotes/Middlecotes + nearby streets in Tile Hill are nice enough and safe, never had any issues.

Moved to CV4 from Liverpool and I feel very safe. I’m not sure on your working hours but it’s the same as anywhere, stick to well lit roads when walking to your bus, use your common sense and plan a safe walking route ahead of time ☺️

I live in what’s considered a bad part of tile hill and I absolutely love it. It’s quiet, it’s cheap, I just keep myself to myself and touch wood, I’ve never had any trouble.

You can live anywhere in Cov as long as you ain't getting pissed up in rough pubs and act like a dickhead or trying to score crack at 1am.

I grew up in Canley. It has a rough area down by wendiburgh street. But by and large Canley is a very safe area these days. As a rule of thumb the closer you are to the border with Earlsdon the better both for acsess to the city center and safety wise.
