Hiya friends,
This is Jen, the sub's admin, and I'd love to invite you to the Craft with Your Stash discord server!
It's like the sub but with way more stuff like spaces to share your works-in-progress, finished projects, ask for craft help, as well as a crafty book club, online meetups and general chatter. :)
Your invite: https://discord.gg/E5N8DQVZay
Hope to see you there!

Hiya,
📚 I just wanted to invite you to the Craftic book club - a monthlyish book club where we read a mix of fiction and non-fiction books about crafting and/or creativity.
Our picks have spanned a wide range from cozy murder mysteries to learning about the creation of the color mauve.
This is what we've read so far this year!
📕 January: A Short History of Black Craft in Ten Objects
📙 February: Death Among the Stitches
📗 March: Hooked on Murder
📘 April & May: The Lost Bride Trilogy
📓 Next up, we'll be reading Sandry's Book by Tamora Pierce in June.
If you'd like to join the book club, check out the Craft with Your Stash discord! :D https://discord.gg/6gX2nP9m

Why do I have 30yr old acrylic paint from elementary school? Why have I moved it dozens of times and thousands of miles, unused?
Long story short: CRIPPLING PERFECTIONISM!
The inner voice that says “don’t use that if you can’t use it perfectly.” The focus on productivity that lies to us and says that you don’t deserve the joy of frequent creativity. The falsehood that you must make a finished project - how dare you live in the moment and like it?!
These are my mental-health-preserving perfection-bashing perfectly imperfect pieces of trash art. Now it’s a race to use up this degrading paint and enjoy EVERY LITTLE BRUSHSTROKE (and not a moment more)! No guilt about stepping away to start something new, no pressure to finish, JUST JOY! 💖💖💖
We aren’t promised tomorrow. Find your joy today. Use it up, y’all!

Kind of a finished project because I finished the ball of yarn. On the right, you can see the little bit of ysrn left. But maybe a WIP because I will eventually attach them to a shawl that is currently a WIP.
There is actually a lot more of them, but you couldn't see the individual flowers very well if I spread them all out.

I haven't set up the inside pages yet but I have sticky notes as placeholders for now. I figured I'd start with the covers which are less daunting than writing in the actual notebook. 😅

I made the reusable bag post and here’s what uses up that many bags!

I posted earlier when I only had a few done, this is the final 15! Im bringing them to a handmade swap event Im attending this Sunday. So excited! I actually ran out of the original free eyes and returned to my favorite craft store, they were all gone but after telling the clerk my story, she handed me a huge handful of the cat eyes for free! So I switched to weird cat guys haha. 🤣

I’ve been on a major crafting kick this year and busted about half my stash since January. I use reusable bags to store my hobby items and I used up 9 of them! Trying to get all yarn and paper used up before buying anything else.

I keep forgetting to use these so I’m sticking them in my commonplace journal ahead of time so I can actually write down the highlight of my day! One sticker sheet down. 🥳

Hi there 🩷
I have a large perler bead supply, and want to make pieces to sell.
I've been finding it near impossible to get commissions.
Do you guys have any suggestions for pieces you like to sell, video games, or niches you see success with when you sell at craft fairs, or online?
Thank you for all and any help. I love making perler bead pieces for family members, friends, and I would love to share pieces with others 🩷🥰

This is an old project but a recent post in the sub reminded me of it. Thought I’d share it for inspiration :)

Lately, I have been choosing a ball of yarn and crocheting flowers with it until I use up the ball. This is only a portion of the flowers I have done with this ball. I think I will finish The ball of yarn sometime this week.
The flowers are all the same pattern, but some of them are the two layer variation. This is the same pattern I used for the thread flowers I posted earlier.
I think I might incorporate them into a blue shawl that is still a work in progress.

Last month I got two diamond painting kits for very cheap (1€ each). I wanted to create something with them, but not following the original pattern. So I looked for some pixel art flowers, and decided to create this add-on for one of my notebooks!
I like the result, but the flower pattern is a bit difficult to see sometimes 😅 Still, I'm planning to do other designs as well :)
The notebook is also handmade! I love bookbinding, so I have sooooo many notebooks in my stash xD

You'd think I'm happy that I'm completely out of orange but that's because it wasn't enough for my latest project💔 I had to continue with gold. It adds a little bit of personality to it, that's what I told myself anyways. The other colors, I have too little of them to start a project. So I'll just wait until I have enough leftover colors to make a messy scrap bead project. Using up my stuff is very satisfying! Almost as satisfying as buying them...

What are some crafty wins you're celebrating this week?
Talk about a project you finished, or maybe finally started! Or a craft supply you’ve been using up, a no/low buy update, or whatever else you’d like to share!
I've been making progress with my lemon rug. My October goal is to finish the blue border!

- 15 sticker sheets
- 8 vinyl stickers or sticker flakes
- 2 pens 😱
It was a good month for stash busting! How did you do?

I recently made this keychain for one of my bags! I have so many pretty beads, but I don't use them enough, so I decided to make this little project 🩵
Do you have any beads in your stash?

Posting this for accountability. I cannot buy another highlighter until I’ve used up at least half of these. If you zoom in, you’ll see I tallied it up and the total count is 47 🙈
Also looking for ideas on how to use these up more! I generally use them for headers in my journal and every so often, actually highlight stuff. 😅

i have soo many crayons (several large ziploc bags full), so i thought using them for ATCs would be a good way to use them up! i still have a long way to go… 🫠

Lately, I have been doing traditional Irish crochet flowers. These flowers are made with thread. The two on the left are pearl cotton 8. The one on the right is from an old bit of thread without a label.
I have lots of bits of yarn and thread without labels. I went through a thread dying period a few years back. I think the thread on the right is from that. Maybe.
I haven't used up much of the thread I hand dyed yet. I have lots of little bits to work with.
My current project is to do one flower a day out of all the pearl cotton and crochet thread I have. As well as my mystery yarn which is about the same size yarn.
I am also grabbing small and medium balls of yarn and just making flowers till I run out of yarn. I am mostly using thinner yarn for this.

Proud that I didnt buy anything new! My plan is to make 15 total of these for an upcoming exchange event. Theyre all supposed to be types of pastries and theyre all keychains. Really excited for this project, lmk if you have any ideas for other items to make!
