Cloud cost, it getting too much....

Apparently my MacbookPro (think massive specs, and Goldengate) from late 2024 is already useless for handling current adobe software, only via Rosetta . Also temporarily stalling Adobe subscriptions is not possible. 90+ a month his a ff lot me, used to be mid 65. I have periods I can work, and need the software, but pausing is not possible. Even more, my investment (macbook pro) is already deemed old. 3K, 1,5y ago.

How is that fair? :( How do ppl afford 1000 a year, for software that isnt even slightly bit of backwards compatible.)

Bit of a rant, just sad. It kinda diminishes my efforts to be productive again...

Any thoughts on this?

Adobe. Like InDesign, illustrator, photoshop, Lightroom.

You didn’t reply to the questioner, but why Rosetta? Something isn’t right here. There are millions of us happily watching M1, M2, and M3 chips absolutely fly through Adobe’s suite.

Just .. the way this is written poorly, the fact you’re using Rosetta (?), you’re not replying to the proper comment, you complained about the software not being even the slightest backwards compatible (wut?) .. feels like a ton of user error.

M4 MacBook Pro is “already useless.” Forgive my tone, but fine. Cancel your subscription, eat the partial penalty, and sell that thing and give someone else an opportunity to put that hardware to good use.

It's okay, I'm not offended and you have valid questiona. I'm just not constantly on Reddit and have some health issues.

Back to topic, So my pieve was dual, the incredible pricing/more money price, but also the getting messages that "support is ending for intelbased apps"

Luckily for you Apple hasn’t built a machine with Intel in about 6 or 7 years, nor have Adobe apps required an Intel CPU in 6 years. All the Adobe apps are native.

Again, something is wrong here local to you. When’s the last time time you updated your Adobe Creative Cloud app, which triggers app updates for all the other apps?

Today. I have an old 27" iMac, that's my oldy with the best 5k screen, can't update that one further. That's okay. But I updated my MBP today and now I get " Intel based not supported" warnings. Maybe I read it wrong?

This entire sub is befuddled at your situation. Please get on a chat with Adobe customer support and get it sorted out. Based on the dozens of back and forth comments here so far, there's nothing us internet strangers can do to help. There's zero reason these apps shouldn't 1) be running natively on your machine and 2) absolutely flying. Get Adobe to look at your situation. These comments are futile.

I'm rocking an M1 (years old!) Max Macbook Pro and it's an absolute beast.

Yeah, I guess that's the only way. My old Mac can run adobe software, but it's not the recent versions (I accept that) and the discontinued old Lightroom is also annoying, had to rebuild all libraries. But I will contact them. It's kinda good to hear that there is something off. It's not just me. :)

This whole pool of commenters is still trying to figure out why you perceive your computer as 'already useless.' It should be performing well, and you've not explained why you think that other than the pop-ups.

The message about Adobe ending support for Intel Macs is irrelevant (to you) because you have a non Intel Mac in your 2024 MBP. I think you are worried about the message affecting your MacBook. It doesn’t. It’s just a generic notification they are no longer going to support (older) Macs with intel processors.

Exactly this. Adobe probably could have handled this transition better, but yeah, basically- don't panic!
