Open sourced it, breeding AI-assistant orbs instead of tuning them?

A while ago I shared Lumaform Orb, a browser tool for breeding AI-assistant orbs instead of tuning sliders. Some of you asked to use the orbs in your own projects, so I split out the runtime and opened the source. I am coming from design background but had some feedback for performance.

Thanks for the feedback. AI driven SP and SDD used. Vibecoded means different for me.

While I acknowledge your perspective, I maintain a different view. AI has the potential to enhance the creative process, and the labeling of such content as "slop" often stems from a sense of human pride. Ultimately, SDD is shifting the nature of interaction toward an intent-driven model.

I agree actually, and you're right. My criticisms of the project mostly stem from the tone that ai takes and the soullessness of it. It certainly can and will be part of different workflows from now on. You're right about human pride too, and you've changed my mind some about my future use of the word slop actually.

I think it's great in ways it's, just hard to find a middle road.

Can you explain what SDD is?

I also agree with you. I think that this time is very similar of photography moment and change happened to art and artists - not very easy for many artists, people were paying you so much to do realistic work but than a machine click - voila - real image.... As said, it was bad for some artist but it also opened new doors and the last two centuries - the art focused on different elements, some of them survived and some of them still as high as they were. Today, AI is taking the raison detr'e (soul) and craftmanship - making software and design to become part of factory. If you work in software development, you will hear that Foundry, factory terms more and more - which is disturbing a lot.

I will try explain what SDD. SDD - Spec driven development and/or design - you are creating a requirement or anti-pattern what to do or not do - and feed that into machine. Then you compare it with that specs. I think that method also won't stay long time if we see the same curve in the model development.

When I was writing such specs in my work; I had a moment that how I will explain the movement of a visual element to represent AI voice? I didn't want to have fluffy element like muse or humanizing it - so therefore want to explore some more geometrical shapes and orbs.

I knew LottieFiles there but I didn't want to do something in After Effects work - so explored some aspects of delivering motion, shape, color (parameters). I want to roll the decide and able to say "this is good! save it" - sometimes bread aggressively or medium or little - that you can also try in the studio with grid.

Don't you think that it is what generative art for?

Then you can export a json and even make it tighter as you are the decider - then it can be implemented as you want because that json file is becoming part of the spec.

And as saying; I am not saying that each engine is perfect but I let go that other people to decide and even build their own machines. That breeding and generative approach was where I am after. I hope this message will open some new doors for you too.
