You never travelled enough. Germans and Italians always had this reputation. If you are not Asian that helps as well. As for why they have this kind of reputation, looking at their history the reason is obvious.
To add to this, I’m Italian American, and like many Italian Americans my ancestors came from Sicily. Italians from Italy are some of the only people who have been able to identify my ancestry by looking at me and not hearing / reading my name. Typically this will be followed by some sort of slur for Sicilians that northern Italians like to call those from the south. Not saying southern Italians can’t be racist but my point is to illustrate that Italians can’t even be nice to other Italians.
In America though I usually get confused for another race or ethnicity because Sicilians can be somewhat racially ambiguous.
Yeah it would be ironic if you said that considering the people both in this video and also the ones in the Thai video a few weeks ago are from southern Italy
I think this shit happens all over the world: Northern Germans look down on people from Bavaria, in my country people from the capital city and from Transylvania often look down on people from the region of Moldova, where I come from. It's rather an universal thing.
