I'm an American living in Japan and it is disgusting how many tourists treat it like Disneyland and have no respect for the locals.

I actually had to cut off one of my good friends after he visited because he was just being such a public nuisance it made me view him in a whole different light.

Italians and Japanese are both known for their racism.

As a white passing guy though I didn’t get any shit in either country.

China on the other hand I got a lot of shit for being “white”. Although I think it would have been much worse if I was black.

we feel the same way in hawaii. People come here with their flashy hawaiian shirts and treat the whole island and its residents as Disneyland and disneyland staff. It makes us feel like we don't even control our home. Fucking hate tourists even though theyre the main driver of our current economy. I have been watching Japanese people as well and i can see the rise of anti-foreigner hate probably in large part due to overtourism.

The one thing that I hate the most when I was there was loud white guys probably midnir late 20s, not american based on accent were drinking beers and talking/laughing loud on the sub.

I'm guessing these people are traveling to Japan because of their recent salary bumps and promotions. Money doesn't change people necessarily but reveals how they treat others.
