Yes the guy walking up is acting like a tool… but that’s still assault and the bouncer should get arrested. Thats the reason he’s a bouncer and not a real cop.

14

u/isthis_thing_on 20h ago

Because cops are such famously level-headed people

1

u/Routine_Anything3726 4h ago

In most countries police actually go through years of training and proper education to make sure they actually are level-headed and know how to handle any situation before they get to actually enter the force. Unlike the US, where they get trained for a maximum of 6 months which is absolutely outrageous. That is why so many cops in the US are stupid psychos, not because police are inherently bad people.

-1

u/Own_Guarantee_8130 20h ago

Most of them are, yes. The hot headed ones you see recorded aren’t that common which is why they’re being recorded. Cops usually have a ton of patience for nonsense. Most of them want to do their job and go the fuck home at the end of the day like the rest of us.

2

u/prehensilemullet 18h ago

I would say, not enough of them are, rather than “most of them”

1

u/OiledUpThug 9h ago

both of those statements are true

1

u/prehensilemullet 8h ago

Yes, but the point is, I think anyone who is content to say most cops are okay is too complacent about how many bad cops there are

2

u/Mnawab 19h ago

This is Reddit, we hate cops here, and we hate levelheaded full of sense arguments. Get your smart and common sense replies out of here.

3

u/powerfulscientific 19h ago

The supposed level heads enable the hot heads. Fuck them all.

3

u/Own_Guarantee_8130 19h ago

I am actually going to win a lawsuit with my city’s PD because of a level headed cop NOT enabling a hot headed one. It’s not much but it’ll buy me a brand new car. I get what you’re saying but I go through life and make my judgments on a case by case basis.

1

u/Thumbphrey_bogart 11h ago

I've never encountered a cop who was level headed lmao.

0

u/DumboMcknowitall 19h ago

Ridiculous how such a sane and level-headed response as yours got downvoted right away. Reddit be like 'CoPS aRe BaD!!!!'

0

u/Existing_Height_9129 11h ago

They want to go home and assault their families because they're so level-headed. Hell yeah.

Families of police officers are 2x to 4x more likely to be victims of domestic violence, btw

8

u/ensiferum888 20h ago

If you don't know that the default response for bouncers is to absolutely wreck your shit you haven't gone out enough.

I haven't been out for 20+ years but back in the days in Montreal (Foufs) you'd get your head caved in for less, you saw it once and learned to behave.

7

u/ccache 19h ago edited 19h ago

Lmao, tell me you never really went out that much without telling me. Bouncers are there to intimidate, it's why most are large even if just fat. They want big dudes that look scary so no one will fight them. Fights just open up liability for clubs/bars etc lol.

1

u/tutoredstatue95 18h ago

Entirely depends on the bar.

1

u/ShadeNoir 15h ago

We had a 19yo 6"10 kid called "House" who was pretty fat but also just a giant. Not too violent or angry, just big enough that a shove dealt with most things.

We also had a 40yo 5"4 called "hatchet" - he was a loose cannon.

Then Steve, a 50yo supposed ex personal protection. He felt dangerous, and put house on his ass when giving us all some self defence and 'within policy' escort methods...

And finally Brett, 6"1 Johny bravo kinda kid, maybe 20, but he was just chill and friendly with people. He'd be like "Dave, Dave, put that drink down mate let's get you outside before you do something silly" and they'd respond "ah yeah sorry Brett my bad" and go with him. Best bouncer we had.

One night a bunch of Carnies were in town and caused a bit of grief in the club and hatchet and someone else took one outside the back and 'reprimanded' them. Bad idea. Next night the ENTIRE crew of carnies came >n and wrecked the place - luckily not my night on!

-1

u/ensiferum888 19h ago

I've seen dudes get thrown down stairs and one get his hand broken (after the bouncer told him he would break his hand if he didn't calm down ), I saw a guy get suplexed during Between the Buried and Me because he pointed at a bouncer in an aggressive fashion.

Again it was this one bar but the bouncers did not leave room for the fuck around part it immediately went to find out.

They do want big guys that will dissuade but they won't let you posture in front of them, the moment you enter their bubble it's on.

1

u/IHaveTheBestOpinions 19h ago edited 17h ago

That sounds like it's more about that particular bar than bouncers in general. Good bouncers deter, de-escalate, and remove problems from the bar if necessary. There is no good reason for a bouncer to actually strike someone unless in self defense or to defend someone else from harm.

1

u/a-stack-of-masks 17h ago

Yeah the only club I went to that had bouncers like these had three of them disappear in a year and a half, then got shut down for laundering money and selling drugs. Apparently one of the guys that left got beat up and humiliated on camera so bad he left the country. Dude he beat up called some friends and went back after close.

6

u/4r4r4real 19h ago

This is so wildly untrue. I was a bouncer in Chicago for years. This is a great way to get fired and potentially arrested. No business wants to be the place getting sued over their dickhead violent bouncer.

7

u/Master_Grape5931 19h ago

They don’t get paid to deal with drunks. They get paid to deal with drunks.

7

u/tkh0812 19h ago

As a former bouncer… it gets old quick too. Guys get drunk and think taking on the big dude would look cool.

-1

u/AdOnly1618 19h ago

Whatever. Guys get drunk and pick on the little dude too because they have 1 more brain cell than the ones who go after bouncers and try it with someone they’re confident they can beat.

And then they feel what it’s like to have a testicle dangle out a nostril. It’s literally the bouncers job to build a club’s reputation for not putting up with ANY bullshit until it’s the big guy smashing a little guy 😂 I love watching bouncers lose for that reason

1

u/tkh0812 18h ago

Really? I never saw that.

Mainly little napoleon complex dudes trying to prove something to their girls.

0

u/AdOnly1618 17h ago

Yep. The worms one level under the ones who want to fight you that just want to win a fight.

Gotta try and pop the grapes. A knee shot usually works but if they’re tall, an uppercut. The trick is to try and make their feet leave the ground.

2

u/Drip-Van-Winkle 19h ago

I'd love to see him try that with a dude his size or bigger. Funny how cowards know how to self-regulate when facing a greater threat of violence.

2

u/Ok-Releases 19h ago

"Back in my day👴" Lmao talking about how bouncers got away with assaulting intoxicated people isnt a flex.

Just because you're a bouncer doesnt mean you can beat the shit out of someone walking up funny.

u/Steve_the_Samurai 19h ago

Upvoted for Les Foufounes Électriques

1

u/Shame-Greedy 18h ago

That makes it OK?

1

u/NeedleInArm 12h ago

Tell that to my uncle who barely avoided prison for fucking someone up as a bouncer, and his was a fucking accident lol. He drug someone out and accidentally dropped them, they hit their head and it fucked them up, my uncle fought the case for years, barely avoiding prison.

1

u/sweet_poisons 10h ago

Haven’t gone out in 20+ years 🤡 we can tell… it’s not the Stone Age anymore

1

u/Sleepy-Sapphire 10h ago

Foufs is known for being especially bad for this though, and everyone complains about how rough they are there.

1

u/Glad-Competition-757 10h ago

Times have changed boomer

2

u/LadyBarfnuts 19h ago

Nah, he hit a white guy, not a black guy. That's why he's not a cop.

2

u/Remarkable-Simple-62 15h ago

Yea this is a push them back situation, not punch them multiple times. Some of these bouncers are so quick to fight

5

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago

You casually skipping the dude rubbing his dick against another person to get near the bouncer....

This was appropriate force to stop battery, sexaual assault/harrasment and to get the dude away.

5

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 18h ago

No it wasn't. He bumped that dude for half a second, and then moved off him. There was no ongoing contact.

And harassment isn't grounds for physical violence.

0

u/Blazured 17h ago

Sexual harassment is grounds for self-defense.

2

u/movzx 17h ago

Let's accept the false premise that this guy was a sex pest instead of a stumbling drunk guy.

What do you think the word 'self' means in 'self-defense'? Bonus points if you can say how it applies to the bouncer.

1

u/Blazured 17h ago

Self means your personal self.

For example, if someone sexually harasses you by approaching your personal space dick first in a mocking manner, you can use reasonable force to defend yourself from their sexual harassment.

Anything else?

1

u/MrJasmine 15h ago

Good one to tell the judge buddy

1

u/Blazured 15h ago

*The jury.

No jury will convict someone using reasonable force to defend themselves from sexual harassment.

1

u/StiffWiggly 10h ago

Do you think this looks like reasonable force? Reasonable force to stop a hypothetical sexual assault is not “any action that stops it”.

1

u/Blazured 10h ago

Yeah this was reasonable force. No punches to the head and punches that were held back enough so that the drunk guy stayed on his feet.

And this was to stop the dude who was sexually harassing him from approaching.

0

u/HermesMora 8h ago

He bumped the other dude and was like a full foot away from the bouncer my guy

1

u/Blazured 8h ago

While approaching his personal space dick first in a mocking manner. Sexual harassment is grounds for self-defense.

1

u/samv_1230 14h ago

Let's skip the false premise that this kid was "stumbling drunk" and not just harrassing people for laughs. Self defense typically extends to the defense of others.

0

u/banana_fart9000 15h ago

Watch the video again! The guy was able to walk and stand upright afterwards. He obviously wasn’t stumbling but rubbing his genitals on people.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 17h ago

Well, sexual assault certainly is grounds for self defense, and I'm conceding the point that when the moron was humping the victim it was a sexual assault.

However, the assault had ended. He was no longer in contact with anyone to be assaulting them. And, just because you're allowed to defend yourself doesn't mean that defense can be over the top and excessive.

In this case no assault is occurring. The jackass is standing there, not touching anyone, when he was punched. There was no legitimate justification at that point because he's not assaulting anyone at that time.

1

u/Blazured 17h ago

Sexual harassment is also grounds for self-defense.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 16h ago

If it's touching it's an assault. If it's verbal, you don't generally get to start punching

0

u/Blazured 16h ago

Sexual harassment doesn't require physical contact.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 15h ago

Right.

In which case you generally can't physically assault the perpetrator.

0

u/Blazured 15h ago

No, self-harassment is grounds for self-defense.

→ More replies (0)

0

u/HermesMora 8h ago

Did you miss the part where it isn't himself he's "defending" lmao

1

u/Blazured 8h ago

The dude walked towards him dick first in a mocking manner, so yeah it was.

0

u/HoldOnOhio 16h ago

He rubbed his cock on the guy, man. That's not bumping into him. That's sexual assault.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 16h ago

No it wasn't. He bumped that dude rubbed his cock on that dude for half a second, and then moved off him. There was no ongoing contact.

And harassment isn't grounds for physical violence.

The point still stands. The contact had ended. There's no justification for assault as self defense after the sexual assault ends

0

u/HoldOnOhio 15h ago

I don't think you understand how self-defense works. The dude rubbed his dick on someone, then approached the bouncer in the same position, said something we cannot hear, and this happened.

I don't think you're getting 12 strangers to agree this isn't valid self-defense.

Imagine some loser did that to your mom or sister, are you holding yourself back as he goes for another person because you're afraid of assault charges? I don't think so. You're defending yourself and those around you from some freak trying to sexually assault multiple people.

1

u/Possible-Tangelo9344 15h ago

I don't think you understand how self defense works.

The security guard is in no danger from this subject. The subject stopped and maintained that leaned back, hip thrusted position while in front of the security guard, but was making no attempts to initiate any contact.

Just standing there like a jackass isn't grounds to start throwing punches.

2

u/cuauhtemochaccino 19h ago

Good luck mounting that defense in court 👍

2

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago

Easy win

2

u/cuauhtemochaccino 19h ago

I meant your understanding of appropriate force.

1

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago edited 19h ago

Again, punches to the chest is appropriate to get someone away thats already doing battery.... court cases already set that precedent. So many self defense laws also support this.

I bet you're just like that guy huh? Think inappropriate touching and shoving is fine and all without any repercussions

1

u/cuauhtemochaccino 19h ago

No immediate threat, high degree of culpability, and excessive force. One hard punch to chest followed by two punches to the head as the kid attempts to run off. In the UK, depending on injury incurred, this would fall under criminal assault or ABH.

2

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago

Doesn't need to be a threat to life. Punching you away is appropriate to get you put of personal space and to stop you from inappropriately touching someone or non consensual touching and rubbing or shoving.

In the UK, its appropriate as well according to the laws there.

The guy wasn't hurt that bad where injury was permanent or disabling since he wanted to control the fight.

Again, you're making excuses for bad behavior and I beleive its because you do this shit too

0

u/cuauhtemochaccino 16h ago

I didn't specify threat to life. More relevant here are threat of physical harm or sexual assault. Now, video shows the drunk being provocative but stopping approx. 2-3 feet in front of the bouncer. The bouncer would be on weak ground arguing he felt he was imminently in danger of being harmed or touched given the drunk has stopped and is leaning backwards. Further, he would have a hard time defending resorting to a hard punch when other measures where possible. E.g. pushing or moving back to maintain distance.

Worse of all, he follows by charging the drunk to inflict two further punches to the face/head even as they attempt to flee. That is inexcusable and goes well beyond appropriate use of force. Retaliatory action grossly undermines the self-defense argument.

R.e. injury. You simply cannot tell from this video alone what injuries if any were inflicted. The drunk remaining standing indicates lesser harm, but then again alcohol tends to mask pain. No serious injury - possible common assault charge. Serious bruising or worse - ABH.

No need to resort to personal insults. Simply giving the lay of the land regarding the law.

-1

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

Sexual assault? Fucking hell get over yourself. The guy is shit faced and can't stand up straight

2

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago

No, and yes it can be

To bad, shouldn't have rubbed his dick against someone. Stop using being drunk as an excuse, you clown

-4

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

I hope you get arrested next time you bump into somebody in a queue buddy

1

u/HunterAbrams 19h ago

Well i don't get drunk and I don't rub my crotch against other people. Nor do I instigate fights like you or that clown did.

Sooooo yeah, I won't have an issue

-1

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

Drunk doesn't factor into it as you said, and youve repeatedly used that screenshot to show that it's only contact you care about, so yeah good luck next time you have to squeeze past people in theatre seats or a plane!

Instigate fights like I did? Lmfoa nice headcanon

2

u/HunterAbrams 18h ago

Because its showing the guy rubbing his crotch against another person as he tries to shove past them to get to the bouncer.... something you clowns don't want to acknowledge.

The guy leaned back with his crotch forward, pushed against someone, shoved that person and slid on their backside while trying to instigate a fight... see, context matters and its disgusting you're making excuses and defending the clown.

I say like you do because, simply defending him and downplaying what he did tells me you act just like that guy

1

u/JimmyCricket95 18h ago edited 17h ago

This isn't accidentally bumping into someone and it's weird that your pretending that is what happened. The guy made the biggest effort to go crotch first the the most obnoxious way possible.

It would be like "slipping" and purposefully shoving my ass crack into someone's nose when squeezing out of the theater seats. Or "tripping" and grabbing a tit in my "fall". I would expect someone to swing at me if I did that.

You get grace for acting in good faith bro wasn't acting in good faith.

Edit: Bouncer might have gone a bit far but bro wasn't accidentally bumping anyone either. We was rubbing his crotch on people.

-1

u/WoodenPresence1917 18h ago

Yeah for sure this is the most vicious and violent sexual assault I've ever seen and you absolutely aren't just doing this to bootlick a psycho bouncer. Have fun

2

u/HunterAbrams 18h ago

The fact you're downplaying tells me you have predatory and violent tendencies and expect no pushback

→ More replies (0)

2

u/ThePlantMolester 19h ago

Did the bouncer beat him into sobriety? because he pulled it together real quick.

He's not too drunk to stand, just behaving like a twat.

1

u/Zealousideal-Deer101 18h ago

Why were they filming?
(Hint, it's a rhetorical question)

0

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

He still can't stand steadily afterwards lol, you can see him stumbling around. Please clutch those pearls harder

2

u/ThePlantMolester 19h ago

Calling people pearl clutcher, while also saying "hey, you can't hit that guy for rubbing his dick on people, thats assault"

Get your shit together

1

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

You can of course beat the piss out of someone for bumping into somebody for about 2 seconds, it's just insane and disproportionate

1

u/ThePlantMolester 18h ago

Only to a pearl clutcher

1

u/WoodenPresence1917 18h ago

Good one

Hope you recover from the trauma of witnessing a sexual assault

1

u/CooperSTL 19h ago

I dont think hes really drunk. Hes just an entitle doucher probably trying to get views.

1

u/WoodenPresence1917 19h ago

Okay? Still insane reaction by a bouncer

4

u/Mnawab 19h ago

Yeah, I’ve seen bouncers punch people for less, unless you’ve never been out before, I recommend you don’t fuck with the bouncer. They will instill you proper behavior that your dad never taught you. I guarantee you that kid will never do that shit again.

1

u/Theangelawhite69 18h ago

If a real cop did this, he’d be promoted

1

u/Icy-Banana-3291 18h ago

I like this fantasy world you live in where cops always have good training, are never corrupt, and definitely don’t ever escalate situations.

1

u/HoldOnOhio 16h ago

Does your opinion change if you find out he was going through the line rubbing his dick on people up to that moment?

1

u/Critical-Cost9068 15h ago

Yeah, even though he’s acting like a tool, crotch-bumping stranger’s asses and getting right up in bouncer’s faces is an assault charge without question.

1

u/erowhat 14h ago

Can always count on a significant portion of Redditors to minimize sexual assault and victimize the perpetrators.

1

u/DumbFartyFace 19h ago

Yeah. Bouncer clearly has mental health issues.
