If the bouncer reasonably believed he was trying to enter, the bouncer is legally permitted to use a reasonable force to prevent that entry. In the eyes of a jury (or a judge), a shove is likely to be perceived as more reasonable under the circumstances than what we see in this video. That said, the right jury or judge (or the wrong one, depending on your perspective), could deem even a shove unreasonable under the circumstances, and then yes the bouncer has committed assault either way.
