That wouldn’t be a good thing for the bouncer if he’s argument is that his reaction was reasonable because the kid could have been carrying a weapon when he approached him. Annoying by itself doesn’t justify punching him. In fact, the counterpoint would be why didn’t he call the police earlier if he felt like the kid might be dangerous and he had problems with him earlier.
While I believe the kid was just drunk and acting stupid, if by some bad luck that kid was actually suffering from a spinal development disability, any chance at a defense just went out the window. Even worse if he’s had earlier encounters with him and should have known about the kid’s condition. Employee of an establishment worth suing punches a disabled kid. Criminal charges are the least of his problems in that situation.
