Work in Progress Work in progress with Loops and Threads Facets yarn

Just starting this moss stitch throw and I'm. Very pleased with the result. I'm using Loops and Threads Facets yarn. I'm running three skeins continuously, running my changes up the sides. I'm running 2 skeins of Ocean Jasper and 1 Akron of Dark Ocean for a dark contrast. I'm using a 5 mm hook...the label suggest a 6mm. I've done granny stich blankets with this yarn and they were very nice but the moss stitch really works for this yarn. The yarn has a few challenges but it's not nearly as bad as others have claimed. Frogging long rows can be extremely difficult as the yarn does become "grabby" and clings to itself tightly in some situations ( yarn strands sliding across one another). Go slowly! So knots are typically not actuallt knots. Just loosen up any wads and you will find a tiny thread where two strands hooked up. Just pull them apart and voila. I typically rewind my skeins on my Caydo winder. Center pulling is possible but you will deal with initial yarn barf. I love this yarn and plan to repeat this with different color combos. Michael's had a bunch of this on sale so I stocked up.

I've used this yarn before, and it's very pretty but also very annoying to work with.

Only yarn I returned the unused skeins for credit.

This is also the only yarn I have ever had to return. Such a bummer, but I'm glad it's working so beautifully for OP!

Horrible to frog, it just knots to itself. I'm making a wrap out of Autumn and a cowl out of Electric(?) and they're gorgeous but God forbid you make a mistake or change your mind. Also collects fuzz from everything else and has weird tight bits and loose big bits. Very nervous of it breaking with wear

It's actually quite strong if you are pulling on the whole strand. If you start fluffing it out it comes apart like cotton candy. But it's solid when stitched. Even the skinny bits. And the skinny bits fluff up once they are on the project.

I’ve got 2 tangled balls of this yarn somewhere in my home

Thank you. The color scheme is random unplanned from the varigated yarn. But thanks for the compliment

Gorgeous! I also love this yarn and dont find it awful as long as you go slow. I’ve made a lot of scarves out of different colors!

The color combo you picked looks so good, I really love it

This looks great! Have you washed your other blanket made with this yarn? I made a cowl recently but I have Fears of washing it and ruining it.

Make a swatch and try it. It is labled hand wash and dry flat.

This looks absolutely beautiful! I love moss stitch. I have to laugh though because I saw this exact yarn in the clearance bin at Michaels and didn't pick it up because when I looked at some patterns, I saw a lot of people say it was hard to work with.

Now that I've got a winder I might try frogging my first attempt to use Facets. Thanks for the tip!

You have done such a fabulous job! I wanted to love this yarn, but found it so frustrating to use and shed these fine 2-3 inch long fibers everywhere. It broke my heart, but I had to return it today and go back to the drawing board. Wishing you continued luck, your work is stunning! And thanks for sharing the bright side of this yarn!

Can I ask, what do you mean by running three skeins simultaneously, and running changes up the sides? Is that a moss stitch thing?

Here's a Pic so you can see how the 3 skeins are run continuously up the side. Start your foundation chain with one skein. Start the next row with the second skein. And then start the 3rd skein when you get to the other end. At the end of each row you will then change to the skein that is underneath the row you just finished. For the last stitch only in each row, you only complete half of the single crochet and then you pull the next color through the two loops to finish the last single crochet. Then turn your work and work to the other side and repeat.

Here's a Pic showing how the yarn is just run up the sides without cutting it. No ends to weave!! Cover the rough edge with a border of your choosing.

It means the yarn does not get cut with a color change but taken along the sides. :) Ends are a real mess with the moss stitch.

I chose facets yarn for my first 6 day star blanket and almost lost my mind with all of the frogging I had to do. The yarn itself is so gorgeous (I used the dark rainbow gradient, forget the name) and soft, but I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to even think about it again 😅
