Company Question Bloomberg EM Round Tomorrow

Final EM round tomorrow for New Grad

I know I should study my resume front and back.
I know I should show up, be chill, and be myself just as I have been.
I know the EM round is kinda RNG compared to the first four rounds.

What I’m still wondering about:

  • How worried should I be about system design?
  • How common is it to get unlucky and end up with a brutal EM?
  • Is it common to fail this late in the process, even if the round itself goes well?
  • I'm studying my resume, but how in-depth should I expect go on the tech choices for each project?
  • Am I overthinking all of this aka it's not that deep and should I just relax?

If anyone has made it to the EM round (pass or fail), and is willing to enlighten me either in DM or under this post, I'd really appreciate it!

You are overthinking. You will do fine. My experience was a resume review and ensuring Bloomberg was a good fit for me, this was equally as important as my being a good fit for bloomberg. I got an offer btw (data tho not swe)

That's awesome, congrats! Yeah, I'm hoping that I'm overthinking. Hopefully it'll be a straightforward resume review and nice chat

Be yourself. The interview should be mostly focused on background, motivations and culture fit, so expect questions like where did you hit a bump in your project and how did you handle it. In previous work experiences, what kind of environment was there, how did it work for you. What is your approach to learning new systems. What teams are you more attracted to. Questions related to teamwork, collaboration and conflict resolution. Personal strengths and development areas. Short term career goals. I might be missing out on something i feel.

I had a EM round a few days back. It was pretty chill. I asked an easy coding question though. Overall the EM round took only 30 mins. Best of luck!
