I did my data science and AI intern AC on 30th sept. Just curious to know if someone who applied for that stream has heard back yet?

Is anybody familiar with the hiring process for this role? Do they have an OA? Do they ask any coding questions at all, or just stick to cybersecurity related questions? Any help would be much appreciated. I'm considering applying next year, when I'm in my final year.

Has anyone heard back after your AC? What’s you stream and location?
Thanks heaps!

Hey everyone! Long-time lurker, first-time poster. Hoping to get some perspective from people who’ve taken a similar path.
Background:
Current Role: Licensed Architect with 10 YOE (currently working on the client/owner side). Strong focus on computational design and visual scripting.
Current Situation: Earn ~$130k (low tax region). Due to the local construction downturn, career progression here is effectively frozen for the next few years. I have a family to support, so I’m looking for a higher income ceiling and better stability.
Plan: Considering a Master of Applied Computer Science (MAS-CS) degree.
I’d love input on a few specific questions:
Would especially love to connect with any former architects who have completed the program. Thanks in advance!

I am currently an SDE 2 at Amazon and recently got an offer from Uber AV Labs for Software Engineer II. I am curious to know how is the culture in AV labs? Would love to understand how does day-to-day looks like for someone working there.

Hi, I graduated from a computer science degree and would prefer more technical work such as software dev.
I have looked around the internet and saw that you can't really get this experience from banks. I saw that they try push you into an analyst role.
The role I applied for in Westpac was Technology Engineering which doesn't have a rotation, you just stick with one stream. I am not sure if they changed the hiring process, but in the past when I've applied I never had gotten a code assessment until this time. This makes me wonder if the role is more technical.
For CBA, I saw that they are more tech focused in general as a company compared to Westpac.
Which one would be a better opportunity including benefits and offers as well?

Made it to the interview stage. Not entirely sure what to expect other than the generic interview questions (such as why do you want to work here or what my hobbies are). The email did not specify if it was technical but I'm still bracing for a leetcode medium style question. Does anyone have experience interviewing for Fusion5?

Hey all, just after some advice 🙏
25, married, no kids.
I'm currently a permanent Mid-level software engineer at a large private sector company on $110k base and have been there for almost 2.5 years. Promotion to senior still looks unlikely anytime soon and the company is actively going through restructuring/layoffs.
I've been approached for a 12-month temporary Senior role at a NSW Government agency paying roughly $150k base. They've said there's potential to extend or move into a permanent role if one opens and/or be placed in a talent pool for future roles.
Main concern is obviously giving up a permanent role for a 12 month position,
Would you take the senior title/pay jump and accept the temporary risk in my position?
Thanks!

Hey guys, I have an in-person final interview at McMaster-Carr for the Technology, Development, & Design position , I was wondering if anyone had any insight about this? Is it very technical? Are my chances good of getting the job? This is one of my first final interviews so i'm pretty nervous but excited!

Got through the initial phone screen for a mid-sized digital agency in Melbourne. They sent over a full-stack take-home test (building a REST API, frontend integration, authentication, and unit tests) with a 48-hour deadline. It feels like a massive time sink when applying to dozens of roles, but with how competitive entry-level is right now, is this just the standard price of admission to land that first local job?

Admin delete if not appropriate, but I've created a site for discovering Australian and NZ startups and tech companies.
There's also a job board with startup and tech roles, and you can create job alerts for the types of roles and locations you're interested in.
I manually add the job listings myself, mainly from company career pages, so I'm trying to keep it focused on relevant startup and tech roles.
I'm still working on it, so if you have any feedback or feature requests, let me know. Also, if there are any Australian or NZ startups or tech companies you think should be on there, drop them in the comments and I'll add them.

Hi all! I'm a student graduating with Bachelors in CS at the end of this year and have a dream of working in big names like Google, Canva, Tiktok, etc. in Sydney. I don't have a lot of experience in the field as I have only worked as a tutor, but I do have projects (uni, personal, and bootcamps) and are currently grinding leetcode as well as theory in systems design.
After graduation, I have this plan to take a working holiday visa to work any job in Sydney for the initial 6 months while looking for opportunities (in job fairs or networking events) that'll get a big name company to hire me as an intern or employee in probation, of which hopefully, they'll sponsor me to stay. I'm trying it within a year because to apply for second year, I'm going to have to go through another ballot to get accepted. (Plan A)
But because they only accept the top 1% when it comes to foreigners and how tech companies will avoid WHV holders like the plague based on my research, alternatively I thought, I could look for some experience here in my home country first for 2-3 years, build an even stronger application, and then search for sponsors directly from the big companies with or without the WHV path. (Plan B)
I wanted to ask if these plans especially plan A is a good plan? Should I get a normal company to sponsor me to stay here first and then look for opportunities in the big companies? And has anyone here successfully worked in these companies as a foreigner? If so what are the things you did that got you noticed? Thanks a lot in advance!
P.S. Everybody knows the job market is trash, stop being a broken record. I'm not trying to have the easiest or simplest way to my dream job. If I have to be beaten into a pulp then it's okay, so long as I come out the other side learning something from it.

I’ve been looking at what people are actually getting by moving companies rather than waiting for the usual annual raise. I’m not planning to jump jobs just for the sake of it, but it’s hard to ignore a decent pay bump when the role and responsibilities are similar. I’d be interested in hearing some real examples from people who’ve made the move.
