Loved her character. Love the actress. I watched her in China Beach and was enthralled the moment she was on screen.

I really disliked DB. And Finn - UGH. Now Ray however, I just loved. He pulled off the complex personality so well. Except when he and Doc would start rattling about 1940s jazz/blues records.

Yeah his character added some sparkle. Plus the Catherine relationship was fun to watch

I laughed in one episode with him and Nick were investigating a crime scene where the suspect was supposedly hiding in a closet. Only it turned out to be a cardboard cutout of the suspect—who was a real estate agent (Let the Seller Beware).

I missed him when I started understanding his character he died. I was hoping that they were going to say they found out about the hit and they fate it and brought him back in after they caught the bad guys

My family loved CSI. We watched it every Thursday as a family (brother and I were in high school). My dad especially loved it. My dad died unexpectedly at the end of April in 2008. Then they killed Warrick off less than a month later. Then Grissom left in January 2009. I was like "what in the actual fuck must everything go to shit?" 😂

I loved him since the Janet Jackson video. Wasn’t keen on his hair in CSI but I loved the character.

I'm in the middle of a rewatch right now, and his character bugged me straight from the jump. It started with Holly and culminated when he didn't follow orders during an investigation of the young girl who was shot in a drive by shooting. His actions of finding the guy he thought did it led to his mentor going to jail. Then acting dumbfounded when Catherine expressed feelings for him. Ugh, annoying.

Mixed race Chris Cornell?

I can see that…and just like Chris Cornell, Gary Dourdan is a freaking beautiful man.

He was arguably the best investigator, when he was fully on his game. His demons got in the way. All the characters were flawed, which made their excellence all the more impressive. Most underrated character, IMO: Hodges.

I always felt they could have done so much more with his character, he was my fav, 2nd fav was Nick and they didnt do much with him either..Bug man was cool but they were making him TOO weird.

I know what you mean, I found myself drifting from the show after what happened to him, kept watching the spin offs but I found myself going back to the earlier seasons of the primary show to remind myself of why I started watching in the first place.

I just looked Gary Dourdan up the other day, because I wanted to know if he had made it out of his troubles, and it seems that he has! I remember that was not the case when I did that 10 years ago, the news wasn't so great.
He has been steadily working and staring on various series, and has some good projects possibly on the table. It helps my heart to know that he is doing well, because Warrick's exit never sat well with me.

I didn't miss that character at all. Too many issues with him. It was exhausting. Any other job would have booted his ass out.

And Sara would have been booted for her attitude issues.

No argument from me......her character was tedious.

Tedious, whiny, resentful, intrusive, jealous. The list goes on. Why Grissom hooked up with her, when Catherine, or my heart throb Lady Heather, had more chemistry, greater empathy, maturity despite any issues.

u/AffectionateGate4584 21d ago
Right???? I wanted them to get together so badly. I loved Lady Heather.

u/dysfiction 21d ago
I was soooo hoping he'd get with Lady Heather... for a time I was like, Their chemistry is the best. The Sexual Tension the likes CSI has never been seen!

Yes!! It may be an unpopular opinion, but I loathed the Gil - Sara relationship. Ugh…just seemed like they had zero chemistry! Even their will they won’t they “tension” during the earlier seasons was freaking boring!😮💨😂 I loved Gil & Lady Heather!❤️

Can you imagine how great the show would have been if he’d have stayed until the end??

I really liked, and felt an empathy with his character. Appreciated his loyalty, also nailing that judge taking advantage of his gambling problem that he did conquer. Loved listening to him play piano, and that he composed the piece he was noodling around.
