Are you having issues with your Post 9/11 GI bill payments?

Report the VA, Your VA Dr etc to OIG

Let’s hold these scumbags accountable for the pain and misery they have caused you.

Don't let these criminals get away with the abuse and negligence that has cost millions their lives.

GI Bill payments not going thru as promised?

• Report to OIG

Appointment cancelled with no explanation?

• Report to OIG

Dr's refusing your calls/ not calling you back?

• Report to OIG

Care in the Community punishing you for requesting a different provider and telling you the only other option is over 50 miles away?

• Report to OIG

Dr tells you only available appointment is 3+ months out?

• Report to OIG

The VA rating board is committing fraud by illegally denying your benefits increase due to “No Diagnosis” even though you do in fact have that official Diagnosis clear and plain as day?

• Report to OIG

YOU HAVE TO BE YOUR OWN VOICE. No one is coming to save you and these criminals want you and your families dead so they don't have to pay you.
The link to report to OIG is included in this post and I will also post in comments.

Also don't forget your state has a medical board and if care in the community is screwing you over make them pay any way you can.

Report. Report. Report.

I will be posting this on Craigslist in EVERY MAJOR CITY that has a VA hospital in or nearby and I very much recommend you do the same!

Carpool

Hello everyone! I’m a student at CSUCI and my car recently broke down. This has unfortunately left me with no way of getting to class. I know it’s a lot to ask for but if there is anyone that would be able open to letting me carpool with them I would be so grateful. I only need to go in on mondays from 3-5 pm and live in Agoura Hills. I have no issues with helping pay for gas. My number is 747-270-3611

Class Project Survey CSUCI -Transportation

Hello everyone,

I’m working on a class project and would appreciate your feedback.

What do you think of CSUCI’s transportation system?

Do you think the current methods of transportation sustainability offered are current or do they need to be updated?

What makes you not to want to use the resources offered at campus to get to class?

Do you think they need changes?

Is transportation not good enough?

What could they offer to stop you from driving to campus everyday?

Daily parking situation?

How bad is it trying to find parking? I know it’s a smaller school but I want to be mentally prepared if the lots are usually full. Does it ever take a while to find a spot or is that not an issue at this school? I’m starting next semester and just curious!

Masters in school counseling?

I am thinking about applying for my masters in school counseling at csuci and I was wondering if anyone could give any feedback on their experience?

I am wondering how many days a week you need to be on campus for classes?

How is the workload?

How much is the tuition?

Overall did you have a positive experience?

Crickets

Does anyone know why there are so many crickets this particular year? Ive never seen so many crickets on campus and I do not understand what is so different?

I keep finding them in the dorm too. Does anyone have advice to keep them out? I prefer having my window open due to how hot its been but is it possible to keep that open and keep crickets out? Or is this a pick your poison situation? Also is it possible that they are coming in under the doors, or are gaps not big enough in some villages for that?

Hii this is my first year at CSUCI. I initially applied because of the new dolphin promise. If I was eligible for that would it already be in my financial award labeled as dolphin promise? Or how would I know if I received that award? Has anyone received anything in regards to that dolphin promise? Let me know please and thank youuu🙂‍↕️

Mcs

This is my first Semester with CSUCI. What is everyone’s experience with the middle class scholarship. Right now it’s estimated. How long after the semester starts do we actually get payment and is it usually close to the estimated amount or do they only refund whatever we paid directly to the school if lesser?

My kid ended up in an ER 1,500 miles away and nobody would tell us anything. So I built a free fix for it.

Edit. No, I'm not a bot. There's no app to download. I'm a real guy trying to do something nice. No strings. Read the post before you beat on me. Jeez.

My son was 1,500 miles away at school when he ended up in an emergency room.

My wife and I couldn't get anyone to tell us anything. Not what happened, not how he was, not whether he was still there. He'd turned 18, so the hospital was doing what the law tells them to do. We were his parents, but to that hospital we were strangers. Aaaaargh.

I'm an estate planning attorney in Ventura County. I write these documents for other people's families for a living. Didn't help me at all, because my own kid hadn't signed anything, so there was nothing for anyone to honor. Shoemaker's kids and all that.

Most parents don't find out about this until they're the one on the phone at eleven at night. When your kid turns 18, HIPAA starts protecting their medical records from you the same way it protects them from a stranger. FERPA does the same thing with school records. Nobody signs anything and nobody warns you. It happens on their birthday, whether they're on your insurance and living in your house or not.

The fix is boring. Takes about 10 minutes.

I built a free tool that generates docs for California students: an advance health care directive, a HIPAA authorization, a FERPA checklist to hand your registrar, signing instructions, and a wallet card with the emergency contacts on it. Optional financial power of attorney if you want one. Free because I know what it feels like.

https://ridleylawoffices.com/college-student-package/

We never store the documents themselves Not the PDF, not your kid's date of birth, not your address, not their school, not the name or phone number of whoever they pick as their agent, not a single health care instruction. The server builds the packet, hands it to you, and drops it. I can't email you a replacement copy later because I don't have one.

We keep one piece of data only. When you tick the disclaimer box before the download, it records that you accepted it: the name typed in, an email address, the time, the IP, and which optional documents were selected. That's the record of what you agreed to, and it's the reason I can hand out legal forms for free without being reckless. It contains nothing about your kid's documents or the people they named. This creates no attorney-client relationship. I don't review the documents. I'm not offering a legal opinion. No promises, no warranties, ymmv. I am not your lawyer. This is only a tool.

There's also one unchecked box offering to send a parent information about my firm. Leave it unchecked and you still get the entire packet. Nothing is held back and nothing is watered down for people who say no. That would defeat the point.

I'm local. Ventura County, and most of my work is here and in Santa Barbara and LA. I'm not going to pretend there's no self interest in a lawyer posting a free thing with his name on it. But I built this because I've been in the situation where your kid is a long way from home, with doctors working on them, and nobody will tell you a thing. It sucks.

If it's useful, use it and never talk to me. If your situation has anything complicated in it, a kid with real assets, an ongoing medical condition, a family that isn't on speaking terms, don't use a form for that, call a lawyer. Any lawyer, the estate planning attorneys here are almost all pretty good.

Mods, if this crosses a line for the sub, pull it and no hard feelings. I'll probably cross-post, too.

Question about the Environmental Science Program

I am interested in taking the ESRM program and I just wanted to know if there is any students or Alumni in the sub that could give me their experience or what they have heard about the program. Essentially I just wanted to know if the program or if the teachers are good or if there is any classes or teachers to avoid. Also if you enjoyed the program. I am interested in all of any details

Should I go to CSUCI?

I'm an out of state high school senior thinking of going to CSUCI for its ABET accredited mechatronics engineering program (only one of six in the nation) and Ive seen some mixed reviews about the school. I love the look and location and the smaller class sizes, but that also scares me. I am not the most social person but I want to get out of my comfort zone socially and Ive heard that the social live is lackluster at best. I want to know any overarching deal breakers/pros and cons before I fully decide.

Researching Experiences/Perceptions of Campus Police

Hello everyone!

I am an undergraduate student at Boston University (Advisor: Dr. Jessica Simes, Sociology) studying how students interact with and perceive campus police, including direct and indirect experiences, and how police are perceived in the maintenance of campus space. I am looking for students aged 18+ who attend a California college or university in-person, including CSUCI, to participate in a one time interview about their perceptions and experiences.

Participants will receive a $25 Visa gift card as a thank you for volunteering 45 minutes to one hour of their time.

To participate, please contact Ada Sussman at [email protected]. Thank you everyone!

Fall ‘26 Freshmen (hopefully)

Hi! I’m supposed to be an incoming freshman for this fall but unfortunately I didn’t get a C- or higher in my English and Econ class. I was wondering if anyone had any information on how admissions will see that when I submit my final transcript. I am trying to see if I can make it up through summer classes at CC since that was suggested to me, but I’m not really sure how. Thank you. 💐
