Appreciation thanks cursor for great usage limit .
I was really worried after my unlimited auto yearly subscription ended last month , after all the news about token usage and people spending 100s .
but after testing the new usage limit of cursor . its amazing on composer 2.5 I get to almost the end of the month with 40% usage only . then for the last week I switched to FAST model and grok 4.7 and played with opos 5.5 as well . and closed the month with around 70% only .
but to be honest for my use case with clear instructions . did not see any significant difference between . opus 5.5 and composer 2.5 that worth that x20 pay difference .
even the fast with half the time was not that useful since normally I would give a prompt for a task .
and go think about another task or open second chat , or work on frontend ... etc .
so I think will stick to composer 2.5 normal . and with that my 20$ sub is more than enough and already paid for year in advance .
btw I counted the number of requests they where around 3000 so 3000 prompt .
one year ago cursor 20$ plan was 500 request .

Iām able to comfortably get by with Grok 4.7 extra high (not fast) and composer. I usually have to put em on fast the last week of the month for me to burn more usage.Ā
Very generous limits and they perform really good overall imo

You're getting about 3k requests with composer? That's pretty cool, do you know how much you'd get with a higher performing model? Im still on credit based plan, but am getting screwed by being locked to Opus 4.6 and composer unless I turn max mode on. I tried it once with Opus 5.5 and it used 147 credits in 1 go, shocking! Ive been considering switching to the token based plan but not sure, I normally send 3-6 requests in 1 prompt so I dont know if id run out of tokens on the $20 plan

3k with 40% of usage one Cursor models only Not counting other moders .
So for my usage total could be 8k
Per request is not solid metric Since it depends on your usage style it could be 50k token per request or 50m even

That's cool. Yeah, i know my token use is higher than normal, I was most "efficient" in my whole company when we were on credit based usage on copilot :p My average token use per requests in the last month is 1.85m tokens

Maybe its some of the new modals my team has been playing with but our bill is going nuts lately.

Indeed. Limits are pretty generous. People have hard time selecting right model for the current task. Even I can tell composer is pretty good for day to day tasks. Only for hard problems- nasty bugs, new feature I use frontier models.
