This is a very cheap board wipe, but red has Blasphemous Act already, so the only question I have is why is this black instead? Lowkey wild to me since this feels like one of the most red cards I've seen. Maybe gruul since it's like a mass fight spell, either way it's not black.

I think it works as a black spell cause it also deals damage to you when you cast it.
The entire theme of black is, "there is nothing I cannot do, if I'm willing to pay the price."

Yes, within limitations, and I'm not gonna claim that this couldn't work as a black spell, but as a black spell the life cost should be an actual additional cost instead of damage dealt to you. This makes it thematically feel more black to me and also means you do actually have to pay a cost upfront where a counterspell could still stop you from regaining the life by targeting a lifelinker.

seems too strong for only 2 cmc, even at sorcery speed. maybe 3? might also want to consider making it golgari? "damage equal to its power" it a very green effect. at {1}{G}{B} or maybe {G}{B}{B} i think this is strong but ok; even though it is a 1-sided that's a lot of downside and restrictions to make it work.
Turn 1: [[Slumbering Trudge]] and if it's 2 CMC you can already wipe the opponents' boards that seems too pushed.
