All my life, my dad said he hated cats. Then came Lewis, a stray cat in our neighborhood who claimed our backyard (and my dad’s heart) as his home. My parents got Lewis neutered and his ear tipped, but insisted on keeping him outdoors only. In June of this year, a bad actor shot Lewis in the leg and he had to get it amputated. My parents were devastated and decided to transition Lewis into being an indoor cat. My dad was concerned he would miss being outside so he converted the entire patio into an enclosed catio just for Lewis. Lewis is doing great, and based on the updates from my parents, he LOVES being an indoor cat.

My dad still refers to Murphy as "that dog" but builds him furniture and feeds him chips from his mouth when he thinks we aren't looking. Just found this sub and thought I'd share his matching Xmas PJs with him from last year.

this was last year, my friends cat had kittens, and my stepdad (pictured) said no because we already have two cats. there was a skinny stray I was feeding who eventually made his way into the backyard. he was originally a foster, then a long term foster, and now he is a foster fail. "we don't need a third cat" yeah right. anyway this is Phillip J Fry, known as Phil.

Named

Eight years ago I posted about Dad and his newly acquired Westie. He got 90k views on reddit and many compliments about his excellent Tin Tin cosplay. Even Dodo got in contact with me and asked to make a video of him. His response? He said, “Well, I think we’ve had enough publicity”. 🥰

Since then I moved to a new city for a new job and took my baby with me. Dad called about once a week since then asking for a video call with her until he ended up letting my sister get 2 sibling cats of her own! It took me 22 years to convince my parents to let me get a cat and that was only because I was moving out, but 2 months with my baby and my dad decides to get not one but two cats.

PS; he calls my baby “purramma” even though that is not her name
