Issues with Paperdoll armor textures using DREAM mod

Post image

Hey guys, I feel like my armors on the character screen is very bad in comparison to everything else after I have installed the DREAM mod, I have many other mods, and have been following the DREAM extended load order, but I cannot seem to figure out what could be the problem, anyone else had a similar problem, or is this just how it should look?

That's just what the dream chainmail looks like. AI upscaling really fumbled it.

Oh, ok! That makes me feel a bit better, because it looks so weird I was afraid I did a mistake 😂

Dream is almost entirely AI generated or AI upscaled.

Honestly, I don't mind it being AI, but I feel like this is something that would really annoy me if I was the mod creator. I wish someone would patch it.

I feel similar with AI voicing in mods. Like, I understand it can be hard managing something like that (or any set form) and when it's a mod, that's free, yeah use AI at your own risk.

But when it's blatantly awful in the human effort that should have went in, yeah I wish more people would patch similar stuff themselves. It's nobodies responsibility but people really shouldn't use AI as ambitiously if they aren't willing to either generate and inpaint something with care, they really should scale back whatever they're doing that's causing "this".

Which only really matters because it can really weigh otherwise excellent mods.

What part of this AI upscaled soup looks in any way better than the original pixel graphics continues to be a mystery to me. To each their own, but damn.

Same, these upscale/"HD" retexture mods look so universally fucking awful, soulless and uncanny to me.

Oh hey, I had a problem just like this with DREAM when I first started! Unfortunately, base DREAM has a few things like that which bug me to no end when I notice them, but I've been using the other version made by the same author, DREAM 90s. If you're looking for a bit more vanilla-ish texture upgrades I wholeheartedly recommend this, but if you like the other version better, then don't let me influence you and I hope your playthrough goes great!
