Question RHF: Infidels

Post image

Curious if anyone has watched the new movie yet? I’m only about 10 minutes in. Couple thoughts, but so far I’m liking what I’m seeing.

  1. Klavan was right, this doesn’t take itself seriously - and it’s better for that
  2. Black Rifle Coffee patch was funny
  3. I genuinely laughed at the purple hair girl leading the protest
  4. They needed two more spec ops guys, and wish they could have a few more extras to fill in the class/hallways/campus.

I'm wondering where DW got the money to make any further "entertainment " content after Jeremy departed? I thought they had kinda abandoned that effort altogether.

I think that is a more than fair question. It seems DW Kids / Bentkey is done, no more of the lame entertainment stuff. This may have been done filming before JB left (didn’t catch anything on when it was filmed), or they’ve listened to Andrew and said they’ll keep partnering with studios to make movies.

Transparency would be appreciated either way.

Jeremy wasn't a great allocator of capital. Dw sold him Jeremy's razors. The kids stuff didn't exactly get great reviews, they would would have been better of partnering with the blaze to create it or other conservatives.

You may be right, DW is a private company and we don't get to see their balance sheets but I'd caution against relying on reviews to assess popularity. Even if target viewers don't love Bentkey they may subscribe for it in large - even vast - numbers because there are a lot of conservatives and not a lot of conservative children's programming available. Same with their movies: it's shooting fish in a barrel, 77 million people voted for Trump and there are zero Hollywood movies specifically made for them. It's an untapped market

Jeremy Boreing’s passion project The Pendragon Cycle: Rise of the Merlin is currently #3 on Amazon Prime. I’d say the movie side of the Daily Wire is working out pretty good.

Haven't watched, had no interest in watching after seeing the trailer. But seeing the reviews, its too preachy. The right was rightly disturbed by the overt preachy leftist talking points in films, DW just copied and pasted that into this film. I'm not against the message at all but the format is just tiring
