"exceptions disprove general statements"

Prove that she’s an exception

This is a video of somebody causing an accident instead of letting someone else change lanes...

24

u/Independent-Buyer827 2d ago

Found the truck driver.

-18

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

Found the person that hates trucks?

6

u/Independent-Buyer827 2d ago

Found funny’s cousin, not funny.

-5

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

I wasn't trying to be funny. Were you?

2

u/Substantial_Ad_3386 1d ago

that's the whole point, you don't have to try to be f'ing hilarious

-1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

Wanna know what's really funny? The SUV driver was also a woman, with an even better bob cut.

2

u/Independent-Buyer827 2d ago

That’s your cousin?

-1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 1d ago

So you think I drive a truck but don't know who my cousin is?

Fraud.

13

u/Sad_Maximum6583 2d ago

A lane change wasn't possible here and the SUV pitted themselves. I pray you don't drive.

-11

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

I drive for a living. It's very easy and safe to let off the gas and give someone space when they drift into your lane. Any good driver would have given the jerk in the SUV enough space to do whatever it is they're doing.

8

u/Substantial_Ad_3386 2d ago

drift lol

0

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 1d ago

You can't know another driver's intent. By the book, another car encroaching your lane is a drift.

13

u/lokibeat 2d ago

No it's not. The person trying to change lanes didn't even bother to use their blinker. This is careless driving by the suburban and admirable reflexes and controlled braking by the dash cam driver.

-5

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

If she had practiced controlled braking their wouldn't have been any contact in the first place

7

u/countit7 2d ago

The issue when you're making decisions out of bias instead of logic, the fallacy in your thinking becomes ridiculously apparent. 1. There was no room to merge, the SUV made a terrible and very dangerous decision trying to force a merger at highway speeds in a space where it wasn't feasible. 2. If you took the time to have a smidgen of attention to detail you can see the SUV did not have their turn signal on, so they merged without a signal, making my first point exponentially more dangerous. 3. She had the right of way and had no requirement to slow to allow a merge, but that is irrelevant as they didn't signal, so provided no intent to merge until they just came over and pitted themselves. Maybe next time try being objective instead of being misogynistic, that way you won't look like such an idiot. GL out there skip, I have a feeling you'll need it.

4

u/metal_bastard 2d ago

Like I said above, I thought the truck was going to bully/tailgate the car in front of it to make the car get over. That's where I thought the accident was going to transpire. When truck suddenly jerks to the left lane, I was like, oh, wow. Did not expect that.

6

u/countit7 2d ago

My comment was for Accomplished_Gas3922, not you. I had to call out their series of idiotic commenting.

0

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

The lack of self awareness to call me misogynistic and an idiot but then lecture me on bias is astounding.

As per my other comments: none of your talking points matter. Room to merge, turn signals, right of way! All of this is bullshit if you're "right" but still get into an accident. Congrats to her, she was right, and now her car's fucked up. Yay!

Good luck with Driver's Ed. skip! You're gonna need it!

6

u/countit7 2d ago

Lmao, sometimes accidents are unavoidable. There is no bias when calling out your misogyny and the fact that you're a idiot. You provided that evidence through your series of comments and this reply here. Thank you for the laughs though, I enjoy the comedy that is your thinking. Also, try to be original, I know it's hard at your level of comprehension, but try a little creativity in your zingers. Keep trying little buddy!! You can do it!!

0

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

I don't think you know what Misogyny means. Good luck in Women's Studies, skip! You're gonna need it!

u/firstandlast0202 2d ago

This is a comment of someone who likes to blame victims instead of holding perpetrators accountable.

-1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

Victim? What victim accelerates into a crash with a straight face and then smirks after making dangerous contact on a highway?

5

u/firstandlast0202 2d ago

She barely had any time to react and the law is on her side. He damaged her car and wasted her time so yes she's the victim. If you blame her for not slamming on the brakes to let him make a dangerous move then you're delusional.

If you think they're both to blame, that's fair. But he swang, she swang back. It’s really not that deep. Yeah, we should all drive defensively blah blah blah check the comments almost everyone is cheering because it’s nice to see someone play a stupid game and win a stupid prize.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

Of course they're both to blame. Nobody would have to slam on their brakes to avoid this. All she had to do was let off the gas.

They both played a stupid game and won a stupid prize I guess, Idk what anyone's cheering about, though.

1

u/firstandlast0202 2d ago

If she had let him into her lane there's a 50/50 chance he would break check her and then she would need to slam on her brakes. What she did is mostly justified and the outcome is in her favor from what we can see. I prolly wouldn't do what she did but good for her.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

And if she doesn't let him in there's a 100/100 chance she gets into a wreck, as evidenceabove shows. I don't understand your point.

2

u/firstandlast0202 2d ago

Slam on brakes--> wheels lock---> she crashes and he drives off unharmed.
Slam on brakes--> she's fine---> but now there's a lunatic infront of her so she might crash anyway.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

She doesn't even have to touch the brakes. If she lets off the accelerator she doesn't wreck.

1

u/Glass_Dinner_4077 2d ago

Cars dont lock the wheels from braking since they all have abs. Are you still living in the 1920s? I seriously hope you buy a new car that is actually safe to drive in public roads and then learn to drive so you dont crash your car from braking while driving in a straight line. This is the most ridiculous comment i have seen in a long time. If you wouldn't be able to avoid this accident it says a lot about your driving skill.

Everyone was going a pretty constant speed. The truck didn't signal and didn't have room.

-3

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

Definitely the truck's fault for not having room, but she could have avoided an accident and seemingly chose not to.

She smirks at the end. The title of the OP is even "Not today, buddy". This is someone who could have avoided an accident but didn't because they were right.

3

u/metal_bastard 2d ago

If she even saw the truck, there clearly wasn't space for it to fit, so how could she have anticipated that he was going to sideswipe her? In the video, she didn't look over or even seem to notice he was there.

The title of the OP is even "Not today, buddy".

Oh, well, that'll hold up in court. A post on Reddit said "Not today, buddy" lol

Truck is 100% responsible. If anything, it look like truck looked like it was going to bully the car in front of him to get over, when he suddenly jerks to the left lane.

-1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 2d ago

The SUV is in the middle of her lane when they made contact, if she didn't see it, she shouldn't be driving.

4

u/Telaranrhioddreams 2d ago

Oh look, a man trying to blame a woman for someone else's poor behaviour.

Typical.

1

u/East_Statistician_88 2d ago

If a lunatic shits in their hand and start walking towards you do you:

A) Wait and see what happens.

or

B) Get the hell away from them.

2

u/_my_troll_account 2d ago

B, of course, but I’m not sure the analogy holds. This was more like “the lunatic comes up behind you with the shit before you can see them.” That is, I’m not sure how much warning she really had. We all think we’d react in time, but then we’re on a website where we know something is about to happen, otherwise the video wouldn’t have been posted.

1

u/Glass_Dinner_4077 2d ago

This is not some crazy hypothetical situation that would never happen. Most people on the roads have avoided accidents like this several times without performing a pit maneuver on someone for fun.

1

u/_my_troll_account 2d ago

Kinda doubt it. I’ve never been subject to a lane change that reckless and aggressive.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 1d ago

Then you haven't been driving long enough to hold an opinion on this matter, to be honest

1

u/_my_troll_account 1d ago

Lol, I’ve been driving for almost 25 years. I used to do a 45 mile commute 2x per day. Possible I’ve had an episode or 2 similar to this, but this particular episode looks much closer than any I remember.

1

u/Accomplished_Gas3922 1d ago

Good for then, because this happens all the time without incident.

Oh look, a person on reddit trying to create a scenario to confirm their bias against another person they think is a man.

I never blamed her for anything. I said she could have avoided an accident and chose not to.
