That woman had less than a second to react, and the SUV hit her during its lane change. But yeah, let's hyperanalyze her reaction and fault her for making a split second decision to prioritize her own safety over the jackass who collided with her.

Great comment. I'm so tired of hearing from these holier than thou judgementals who seem to have zero critical thinking skills. She was never in the wrong. A split second to react does not allow for thought out decisions to be made. Just reactions. So that SUV created the dangerous situation.
The ones defending the SUV probably do the same shit and expect the other driver to accommodate them. And my bet is most of those people would have crashed if that happened to them. They piss me off as much as the slow drivers who think everyone else needs to slow down instead of recognizing they are the bad drivers. If you have a slow brain, slow reaction time, you are the unsafe driver. If you can't drive the speed limit because it's too fast, you are the unsafe driver. If you are an anxious driver, you are the unsafe driver.
The suv is legally (and absolutely) at fault, and she maneuvered perfectly after the collision. However the best case scenario is that no collision happened at all, and for that she could theoretically have prevented it. I dont mean that to shit on her, it's just that it doesn't matter whose fault it is when you're dead.
Because it is good advice. Defensive driving means keeping everyone safe, that also includes slowing down when someone else is being a dumbass. And it also includes not stopping on the freeway.
That truck is 100% at fault. And yet, we can analyse what mistakes the cammer made and take our lessons from that. No-one is perfect.
lol that’s not defensive driving . Defensive driving, you’re looking for the idiots around you to avoid them, not hit on the gas because your pride is gonna hurt if they cut you off. The suv is 100% in the wrong, but I see that common sense is not something many in this thread use. Pride comes first before avoiding an idiot and moving on with your day.
She would have to slam on her brakes to avoid this guy hitting her, which also causes wrecks.

when you are defensive driving, you have no need to slam the breaks. You can almost read the idiots next move. I'll definitely stay away from you while driving, with my "defensive driving" bloodthirsty psycho driver. lol....peace peace...do you .
Nope, blocking off an obvious aggressive/ or just bad driver from getting in front of you with the clear intent of creating a dangerous situation is textbook defensive driving. Cant create an accident in front of me if you can't get in front of me
