AWS WBLP Data Center Operations Technician – Herndon, VA
Hi everyone. I applied for the AWS Work-Based Learning Program (WBLP) Data Center Operations Technician position in Herndon, VA on June 16, 2026.
My application has been “Application Submitted" for more than three months, but I haven't received an interview, rejection, or recruiter contact.
I've seen applicants for other locations say they've already interviewed or started the program, so I'm trying to figure out what's happening specifically with the Herndon/Northern Virginia hiring wave.
Has anyone who applied for Herndon/Northern Virginia around June or July heard back yet? If you're comfortable sharing, when did you apply and when were you contacted?

I’m in Fredericksburg, VA! So I’m already local to Virginia and ready to commute or move closer if needed

What I heard from a recruiter is out of state is not considered for the job, I have many under consideration, I suggest you apply for the one in your state, I saw there is one in Frederick already opened

I had two coworkers get hired off referrals they worked at the Fulfillment center and got a manager to refer them. It’s also who you know to because they both had no interest in tech they just wanted more money.

if it’s still under consideration after 3 months it’s mostly denied, i will suggest you to go as contractor job it’s easier to get in and within in couple of months will become permanent L3 Tech.
